Cats as free weights

The other day my Gatsby (the lighter gray) just didn't leave me alone when I was exercising, so I ended up picking him up and just holding him. I was doing lunges, even deck squats with him, while he was just "hanging in there" actually happy. It was just so funny!
We do yoga together, but this is something new.
Any other active cats out there?

When I do Plyo X, mine pretends to be the river I jump over. Does that count?

My previous cat did her style of core work with me. She'd lay down on her back next to me and twist back and forth. It was pretty funny!

My 2 cats weigh almost 20 lb each, so it would be difficult to use them as a single weight when exercising. They're not fat, they're just a big, muscular breed that are not jumpers and prefer to have their 4 feet firmly planted on the ground. But, this is an interesting thought.

I have used my lighter cat for step ups during Muscle Max when he just won't stop circling the step. It's so cute, he recognizes the stretch music in any dvd and immediately comes down stairs to join me in a stretch.

My cats love it when I get down to stretch. They come over for their "loving". My one cat will get on my stomach as I am doing chest presses/flyes, triceps, etc, any weight routine on the back. Trying to get him off is funny because he is quite content just laying there and I have to be careful not to drop the weight on my or him.

Both my cats like to use the step when I am not. They will walk up and down it waiting for some attention but since I am exercising and don't have time they will eventually go find the couch and lay there until I am ready to stretch.

I've done "kittybell" swings with my cat Pete when he was littler. He'd lie in a bag with handles, and I used him for the weight (for just a few, and not for long).

Funny thread...great visuals!

My cats like to sit on the step or FL when I first set it up. They sit there expectantly, as if they're waiting to start their own workout, ha! When I'm doing lat rows, Izzy (on the R in my avatar) likes to stand right where my extended weight comes down. Her height is just below the weight, but I'm always worried that I'm going to hit her. I think she's messin' with me...

My cat sometimes gives me the wide-eyed pathetic look (the one that says, "Aren't you going to pet me?") when I exercise. One time, I was lying on the floor doing chest presses, didn't see her, and hit her with my elbow on the way down. Scared her and me a bit. She mostly listens for me to get off of the treadmill to come down & act all purry.
