Barlates upper back shoulders workout
I just previewed the new youtube Barlates workout and am looking forward to trying it - as usual, she has several variations for each exercise. I do upper back and posture strengthening exercises every 3 days, and although I have 3 different variations of my routine, it's easy to get bored and Linda's routine will be fun and fresh. Linda calls it "Fix one shoulder higher than the other" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmrFAxRaZhI

On easy days, I like Pilates Strong, and she just posted an upper back workout too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsVFgcFwWE4 this is basically variations on locust pose but it is always nice to have someone talk you through it. I end up doing Pilates Strong because it is short and sweet and I can always do it, whereas in Barlates I am often modifying (or just watching ).

I just did this routine, it's really good! Lots of stuff that I should be doing and want to do, and I could really feel muscles all around my shoulder blades and underneath at the sides working to prevent shoulders rounding forward. So, not too many reps or endless anything, it's a keeper.
I should mention that Linda also posted a coffee talk video, https://youtu.be/ASJVpFZ2fNw?t=747 "Pinched nerve in shoulder blade", which I listened to while eating lunch, and there's some good stuff from minute 12:27 onward about if you have the pain and which movements help to ease it. Also, she mentions that she always gets the pain on her mouse hand side, because using the mouse pulls the arm forward and down, and the continual use of the arm in that positions stretches the muscles and then that shoulder is sitting lower and forward as its default position. And she mentions pulling your ears backwards like you're trying to give yourself a double chin, so there's stuff in that video that gives you a bigger picture and better understanding. |

Desie, thanks for posting your experience! I did about half at work yesterday but had to stop (I had to do actual work, LOL!). I did like it though. That's very interesting about her coffee talk, as I get pain on my mouse hand side too. I'll try to watch the video you posted as well!
