I don't usually do additional cardio. I agree with everyone who mentioned diet. I'm back food tracking this week because that was getting a little out of hand.

I'm also very active throughout the day. I don't have a desk job and hardly ever sit down! I think that makes a big difference, too.

They use 8lbs. as their 'heavy' weights in the DVDs. I find I do best with 10s. They have up to 10s and 12s in the studios, and a few 20lb. weights, I've noticed. Probably for the handful of men who take classes. There are still a fair number of reps, so I'm quite certain I'd never go about 12lb weights. I'm very challenged with 10s.
I'll have to keep it under my radar. They look like so much fun (and silly! Tanya seems like a riot!). Maybe I'll give myself reason to splurge one of these days. Until then I will continue to read your blog and get excited about the sets that way!

Hi! So is it ok to do barre everyday, or should you wait 48 hours like you do for traditional weight workouts?TIA!

Most barre workouts are designed so that they can be done on consecutive days. Studios usually recommend 5-6 times per week. However if you use heavier weights or do especially challenging workouts, you might want to take more rest days. I find that 2-3 days on, 1 day off (doing something else or taking a rest day) works well for me.

Yeah, I've been going about 6 days/week and it's not overkill at all.

Lora I think because you were unclear on what you mean by results. Weight loss? Flexibility? Muscle definition? Caloric burn? I saw TONS of results posted in this thread and I think it's just a misunderstanding of a vague term "results."

I agree with this. A bunch of results were posted and then you said you guess there's no results unless you're missing them? We were all confused with that comment as there were quite a few replies with results? Maybe not the results you were looking for, but results nonetheless.

What exactly are you looking for in terms of results with barre so no one makes this mistake again?
