Skechers SpinFit

I found this clip on Vimeo which demonstrates shoes with a spin disc.

If I buy them, I wonder how long it will be before I get my refund in the mail.

Did Skechers learn nothing from Shape-Ups?

That said, if they start advertising them a lot and people start posting positive reviews, I might end up buying them... especially if they come with a set of workout DVDs. (Hey, I was one of those idiots who bought both Shape-Ups and Tone-Ups, so I'm not exactly Einstein when it comes to my fitness purchases.)

I am so weak. And quite probably a complete moron.

But one question -- do the little pink disc thingies actually rotate? If so, I would think they would be incredibly awkward to use for anything but their exercise routine. At least with other dance sneakers, the raised pivot points are a stationary part of the shoes, so you can wear them whenever you'd like.

Those actually look like they could be fun. Or you could do all of that barefoot. If I was doing a lot of dancy videos, I would consider them.

I don't think these are in the same category as the tone ups. These are meant for doing spinning moves on the forefoot. When I read this thread, I did think the same thing though. LOL

I like it...got me wondering if any workouts using discs could use these shoes?! Is this going to be an actual program? It sounded like it. Does anyone know when it will be available or have any further info?

Skechers once marketed those to kids, but they didn't take off like Heelys did...

Maybe they will reduce the knee, ankle & hip injuries from Zumba? Seriously! How many posts have there been on VF from people asking for shoes that pivot for dancing? Especially on carpet?

The Shape Ups wildly exaggerated their toning benefit but I know many people who LOVED them simply because they could walk for hours in them. Skechers should have focused on the comfort level of the shoes ("these will let you walk all day w/o aching feet") vs. the butt toning photos they used to market them.
