Well that's a lot of votes for New Balance so I'm bound to order a few pairs from Zappos to test out. Thanks again!

Really happy with Asics Gels. Much lighter than the NB's i was using and more comfortable. I would recommend finding a place to try a few pairs on if possible. Got mine at Dick's.

I was just looking at those last week. The question I had about them, along with other minimalist shoes, is whether I can wear my orthotics with them. Does anyone know?

I wore Merrell cross trainers for years and now can't find them as well. So, I now have Avia cross trainers and they are working out well. I always buy ahead so that when my shoes go, I have a pair on the shelf. I just bought these Asics for when I need another pair. I have read so many raves on VF for Asics that I wanted to try them.

Laura, I really like the Asics you bought! They have them on Zappos-they are a little more expensive there, but I may order a pair from there since I can use the free return shipping if they don't fit. Thanks for posting about them.

Laura, I developed heel pain in my left heel over the holidays, and ended up buying the Dr. Scholl's from Walmart. It's the orthotics where you stand on the machine that looks like a scale. Yes, it weighs you, too. Anyway, it was spot on. I couldn't wear my Vibrams, but can now. The inserts fit perfectly in my Vibrams and it my feet love it.

I wear New Balance 6 or 6.5 in D Width. We have a New Balance store in our city which is nice so I can try them on there.

Sherry - I got my Asics from Amazon. They have free returns as well. There's nothing wrong with Zappos; they're great. I just thought you might enjoy having another option.

Debbie - Thanks for the info on the inserts. That may be an option the next time I'm looking for the next pair of shoes.
