If you have done & love CLX......

This is my last week of Insanity! I'll be starting CLX next week. In the first phase is there cardio? If not should I add it in? I usually like doing rotations as designed but if you guys have any recs I need them. Insanity was so intense I just managed a few barre workouts during the week. Plus I have not done any serious weightlifting in years, I have been doing high rep workfor ub, & no weight for lower.

Congratulations for completing Insanity - I'm in aw of you

With CLX, there is one extra rest day built in that if you want you can add in your own cardio. I think it's on day 2.

I think adding Insanity workouts to the CLX rotation would be great - altho not sure how it would impact the intention of the program. That is what I thought was the drawback to CLX, not enough cardio. Maybe intense cardio would limit the muscle building?? Not sure.

fitstick, that was what I was wondering. It's why I like to do the rotation as designed. With the cardio impacy that Isanity has done for me, I don't know if I want to back off. Maybe just doing the Month 1 workouts would be fine. I can't think of any other cardio I have that I enjoy as much as Insanity.
Do you feel a few HIIT workouts a week would be beneficial to CLX?

I am currently doing CLX weight work with Insanity and it's awesome fun! Hard work no doubt, but these two Beachbody workouts just seem to fit well.
The CLX cardio workouts are even better, and some mix light weight work and cardio together. Love them!

Thank you for asking the cardio question! I was just going to ask the same thing!

I'm only on week 2 of CLX and I love it!

I've been doing a CLX and Insanity rotation for the last 2 months.

For the first 3 weeks, I did CLX almost as is. I eliminated the cardio workout, because it is very similar to Insanity, and added the other CLX strength/cardio in its place. I did Insanity as is for the first 3 weeks.

After week 3 it started getting pretty tough doing a full CLX rotation and a full Insanity rotation, so I eliminated the second round of Insanity workouts each week. In its place, I started Lisa Shaffer's 6 week kettlebell circuit, and I do her circuits the day I do CLX. For example, I do a cardio warm up, 3 sets of Shaffer's circuit that I have scheduled that day, CLX, and 2 more sets of Shaffer's circuit.

I really like my current rotation. The kettlebell circuits are equally intense without the impact.

I started Lean this week, and next week is the end of Insanity and Shaffer's 6 week circuit.
