I placed 3rd in Spartan Race...kind of :)

I am totally blown away. I entered this race because my 30-year-old son pleaded with me to run with him. (That gives you a good idea of how ancient I am...56) With his beautiful puppy dog eyes how could I possibly turn him down?? No one else in my family would do it (chickens

), so I felt I had to. I was petrified that I would get injured...jumping over tall walls and falling from great heights

I am not a runner. I haven't run since ninth grade. But I told him that I would try.
It was kind of fun. We ran...but we also walked some of it. All in all it was a good day.
Imagine my surprise when the results came in and I placed third!!! Ok, ok...I didn't do quite "all" of the burpees that I was penalized for obstacles that I couldn't complete. Ok, ok...I only placed third in the "open" race and not the competitive group. Ok, ok...I only placed third among the females in my age group. But if you squint your eyes really hard...I PLACED THIRD.
I just had to share because only fellow Videots would appreciate how going from videos in the privacy of my own home to accomplishing something like this can be so encouraging! Thanks Cathe, Leah, Sandra, Kelly, etc.
