Whooping during a class at the gym

Okay, I don't mind one or two "Whoops!" or "Ha!" or "Yeah!" But, today during a step class at the gym, one of the exercisers kept doing it. It was a bit distracting since she was right next to me. The instructor just made light of it by saying "I pay them extra to do that."

I know it probably helps get some people revved up and helps them push through...which is why I feel a bit petty complaining. But, I really wish she would have just shut up after awhile. Especially since the classes always have great music.

Some of my ramping students like to sing along with the music in class. And they sing very loudly and off key. I always tell them not to give up their day jobs, but what I really feel like doing is sewing their lips together.

So I shouldn't run around my step with my hands over my ears yelling "THE NOISE! STOP THE NOISE!" Think it would be too much?

That is annoying. I probably would not say anything unless it was really over the top and I knew others were annoyed too. Maybe she'll get the hint when you fly to the opposite side of the room everytime she enters.

I tend to avoid conflict though...so it could be just me. Sounds like the instructor might be flattered by it?

I like the sewing lips shut idea too.

SO many VFers would say "that's why I don't go to the gym!"

The unfortunate thing about public places is that they have the public in them Such a shame.
