Thanks, Linda and Kate. I agree, Kate, that Bernstein’s music is wonderful. He wrote so much music, including symphonies, operas, ballets, a Mass, song cycles, as well as Broadway shows. There has really never been another composer like him, plus he was a conductor, pianist and teacher.

Only 4 more days are left until my concert! I had the dress rehearsal today, and it went well. I have been preparing in every way, especially fitness-wise, because standing up and performing for an hour and a half takes a lot of stamina. I’ve been doing cardio and my favorite, Power Yoga Stamina by Rodney Yee. I must do that video before every rehearsal and show. It’s become a ritual and I swear that it helps me sing better. The program is demanding vocally, because it is so varied and makes use of my entire range (3+ octaves). I almost got through the entire rehearsal today without forgetting any words, and then suddenly found myself skipping a line on a song I have practiced hundreds of times. You just never know what will trip you up during a performance.
I am excited that it’s almost here. And it’s almost sold out. |

I'm so excited for you and wish you every success!! Enjoy!!
I would love to hear you perform one day. If I weren't going to Maine for a friend's daughter's graduation I'd definitely have attended. Bernstein's a great choice! And yes, May in NYC is lovely.
