Newsweek article on Oprah is not flattering.

I guess some folks at Newsweek don't feel you should be getting your health advice from Oprah:

I don't watch Oprah, or any of the other talk shows.

I guess it is not a good week for Oprah... Earlier this week, she was dethroned by Jolie as the most powerful celebrity in the world according to Forbes' annual ranking of the world's ultra famous.

That article just said everything I've been thinking for years! Oprah really needs to be careful about what she endorses. I can't believe how many people will do whatever that woman says to do. Dangerous territory, if you ask me...

Thanks Alta. Don't get me started on that scold, Dr. Phil.

I'm more unhappy about some of the hucksters on PBS. There's one off-the-wall brain power guy who gets hours of air time, but his reviewers on Amazon has some alarming tales about this practice.

Can't trust something just cause it's on tee-vee, that's fer sure.

Didn't Suzanne Somers have breast cancer? Very dangerous. I record Oprah daily but really only for the Suze Orman shows. The rest I just delete right away.

i've never watched oprah (ok... except for the "my favorite things" episodes if i've known about them ahead of time to record them and i did record the valerie bertinelli show but never did watch it....) she's so full of herself... UGH!

i can't believe people fall for all that garbage!

I read this article over the weekend and thought about sharing it with dh (who's connected to the medical field) but didn't feel the need to send his blood pressure sky high at that moment.

I've always been deeply annoyed by Oprah and this just confirms my feelings. Northrup is another character that angers me. According to one of her books, my fibroids were caused by repressed anger and my miscarriages by my supposed ambivalence about being a mother. oy. Don't even get me started on Suzanne Somers. Just because you write a book doesn't maake you an expert. It's being an expert that should lead to writing the book.
