Checking in with Heather Robertson: Arm Toning + Strength Workout, plus a mile walk.

Lynn, I didn't know you lived in Nashville! I used to live on Parthenon Avenue! I could walk to the Parthenon. I lived in a little apartment that was part of an old house. We discovered that the house has since been knocked down. But I worked at a bread bakery in town (Great Harvest Bread Company--it's a franchise) and it is still where it was. Things change a lot, but some things remain. Time is interesting!

We are gearing up and getting excited. Crossing our fingers that we were the ones who got the house.

Cheryl

We first lived in an apartment on Mason Ave., then rented a really nice house on Cardon or Cardan Ave.. I'm excited for you and hoping you get the house. That's always nerve wracking.

Check-in: walk outside in Pacific Grove, but just in the neighborhood of the chiro's office. DD had an appt this afternoon and it was a nice day, so, lightbulb: don't wait in the car, get out and walk.

Probably won't walk again except in my neighborhood, until Tuesday. The tourists are crowding in, not wearing masks, sneaking onto the closed beaches and littering, and most likely contributing to a spike in new cases like they did Memorial Day weekend.

Cheryl, did your house sale finish? Best wishes for the new rental.

Lynn, I subscribe to beachbody online. They have nearly all of the workouts that used to be on DVD. Body Beast, with Sagi Kalev (known as "The Beast," he was a competitive bodybuilder and a former Mr. Israel), has a 5-minute soothing bedtime stretch called Rock-a-Bye Beast, which was not part of the Body Beast DVD set. I absolutely love it and it really helps me get to sleep. No, I still haven't knit anything, although I found some hat-worthy yarn and I have plans to knit myself a new hat.

Diana, I'm glad you are enjoying singing, but I have to say I worry about your doing it unless you're masked and 6 feet apart. Group singing is very dangerous for the spread of the covid 19. I really miss group singing, but my 3 groups, San Jose choir, church choir, and Voices of Hope, are currently not meeting, rehearsing, or performing until some future time when it'll be safe. CA is a "hot spot." Well, the San Jose choir has plans for the fall to rehearse on Zoom, everybody record their part alone, and then have all the recordings mixed.

Hi Everyone!

Cynthia We have not worn masks with the practicing or singing. I think we have enough mics so we can distance. I'll bring it up tomorrow.

Check-In: 1 hour outdoor walk

Have a Blessed evening!

Check-in: nice oceanview walk in Sand City. Not many walkers, but lots of tourists on bikes. I figured they were tourists b/c they were on rental bikes. Also, did the UB chapter of Xtend Barre.

It's quite warm now, but is predicted to be really hot for Sunday and Monday. Glad I don't have to keep the windows closed!

Lots of walking today. We have a few days in the 80s before it goes down to the 60s!

Yesterday I didn't work out, but I did win a category of DD's Family Olympics that is running all weekend. I hopped on one foot 225 times, haha. I could have gone longer but it was getting uncomfortable and DD had stopped at 140 and I knew DH couldn't get close. I also won the chair-spinning contest (spin in a chair with one push for the longest time), but I lost sock-sliding. My socks would not slide. Yes, this is a fun Olympics! Today we have drawing with the non-dominant hand, a staring contest, spaghetti slurping, and popsicle eating. Tomorrow we have more. DD is very excited!

It's beautiful here and was 59 this morning, so I walked over two miles. I will work out later.

Cynthia, our house closes on 9/22, so we have to transition over the next couple of weeks.

Cheryl
