I updated my post higher up because I am wrong about who commits suicide. Still hated 13 Reasons Why.

Best this year:
Three Daugters by Consuelo Saah Baehr
Iacobus by Matilde Asensi
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker
The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman

I don't have any worsts since I don't bother continuing if I really dislike a book.

Best book for me was "A Little Life" even though it broke my heart. I've never read anything so emotionally wrenching before. It affected me very deeply to the point where I was having nightmares while reading it.

I also really liked "Half Broke Horses" by Jeannette Walls (author of The Glass Castle) and "Inside the O'Briens" by Lisa Genova (author of "Still Alice."

The worst for me was, "My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry" by Fredrik Backman who wrote "A Man Called Ove." I really liked "A Man Called Ove" and expected to like this book as well, so this was a big disappointment for me.

I mostly listen to books these days and I feel like I heard so many great ones this year. The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson -- do not read this book -- listen, for sure! They put a lot of work into the audiobook. Right now I'm listening to 11-22-63 and really enjoying it -- not your typical Stephen King. I am almost finished with it and I'm going to be very sad to be done with it. I also enjoyed The Martian, Dirty Chick, Illumination Night, The Secret Keeper, Mr. Mercedes, Cider House Rules. I think I got many of those recommended to me here.

I was underwhelmed by Gone Girl too, and there was so much hype about it! I just didn't like any of the characters. I really liked Girl on the Train, couldn't put it down! It would be second on my list of favorites for this year behind Coppermine.

I only rated 3 books 5 stars in 2015:
The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith
Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosch

I rated lots of books 4s tho!! - Including Station Eleven (I liked that more than I expected)
& Also the Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up (I am almost finished with my purge!)

Books I couldn't finish & therefore my duds in 2015:
Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks
This is how you lose her by Junot Diaz
Calling me Home by Julie Kibler

I read 50 shades a few years ago but like some of you here -- not a fan.

I'm always looking for new friends on Goodreads!

I'm in the middle about "Girl on a Train" - I rated 3/5, just "liked" it.
Gone Girl got 4 stars

I thought I was the only one who didn't like "This is How You Lose Her." I really liked "The Invention of Wings."
