Barre workouts

Are there any distinguishable differences in the popular barre franchises such as Barre Method, Pure Barre, Barre3, BarreAmped, BootyBarre, etc.

I'm familiar with Bar Method and Barre3 and I would say that between these two barre methods, Bar Method uses a more traditional barre approach (a lot of small pulses) and Barre 3 is more fusion oriented, and they incorporate a lot of large movement into the workout to create a cardio effect. Unfortunately, I can't speak to the other barre workouts you mentioned.

If you can take a studio class, or one for each brand, you can see the differences; or borrow some DVDs, many libraries have some. I mainly use DVDs, but have been (on vacations) to Pure Barre, Bar Method, and Cardio Barre; and classes for a couple of weeks at a local non-franchise studio (where it was obvious to me that the owner had trained with Burr Leonard/Bar Method). I was able to keep up with the classes, but, probably b/c they were an hour long without a pause button LOL they seemed harder than the DVDs. I took a Cardio Barre studio beginner class, and it was the same routine as the Advanced (not Ultimate Advanced) DVD.

I've taken classes at Pure Barre and Barre 3. There is a learning curve with Pure Barre in that their technique has to be mastered before you get the most out of the classes. They now offer three kinds of classes. Barre3 is more fun and casual, and the classes are doable from the get go.
