Hi!

Did anyone check out the new workout Ellen posted today?

- Lifted & Lean

I have not tried it yet, I'm trying to hold out on subscribing until she has more content...but I may cave before too long and at least do the free trial!

I'm going to do it this evening and I'll post what I think. I'm MST so it'll be pretty late for east/central folk.

I just did it. I loved it. Lower body and balance emphasis. Really liked Ellen's organization and her background exercisers. Reminded me of her "live" 30 minute offerings.

No weights, no equipment, just a mat.

What Jackie said - and I loved it too. It was all standing, with an emphasis on the lower body. The most strenuous movement for me was the dynamic chair sequence that was repeated several times. The cardio effect was moderate - about like a nice walking pace. I looked at my fitbit hr a couple times and it ranged from high 90s to 110 ish. It had far more balance work than any other Ellen I've done and I could feel it engaging my core. Production quality was very good although there was one spot after the warmup where the sound seemed to dip - but could have been me. At one point she talked about how it feels to zip up a pair of skinny jeans and that's the area this focused on. HTH

Now I've got to go back and check - it didn't stand out one way or the other while I was doing the workout.

ETA: Strings - violin and piano, volume was much lower than Ellen's voice (she talks non-stop).

I really liked the music...it's a good mix. I'd like to use the instrumental at the beginning for my own classes...sort of a classical vibe.

I really liked this workout and felt like I got a decent workout in a half hour. Nice balance work and Ellen had some fun new ideas.

Probably the best thing from Ellen in awhile. I think that $5.95 for streaming is worth it...I'd like to see what else she comes up with.

I could really use some more time with Ellen!

Ooh - sounds good. I'm probably going to cave sooner rather than later!

Yes, now I'm tempted.

I need to make sure I can stream in the room I work out in. It was added on to the house and has a spancrete ceiling. Sometimes I can get WiFi, sometimes not.

My curiosity lies in why Ellen referred to this workout as including “modern cardio.” What the heck is that?
