Hi Ebianco,

No problem, and thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure if what I wrote sounded like it, so I just wanted to make sure that was not what I meant.

You're welcome AsSweetAsSugar! I'm thrilled that there are so many tough barre/pilates fusion workouts out there (Barlates, Dream Body, etc.) to enjoy!

I agree totally! I did a 6 week rotation based on fusion workouts (Dream Body, Barlates and Mixxtreme Fitness) and noticed a nice definition on my legs right away, I'll need to keep adding them to the mix!

That is awesome! Congratulations on your results! I really need to pull out Mixxtreme again, as I recall they are just as tough as Dream Body workouts!

Barre work in general gives me great definition in my legs in a short period of time

Thank you! I loved Mixxtreme, they're really great workouts and tough too. I was surprised to see results that soon (since the second week!), I guess these workouts really shocked my body

I love barre, but it makes my legs look "mushy" I don't know why, maybe I don't stick with them long enough I tend to get better definition with ballet workouts. I think the magic (for me) with these fusion workouts is that they mix a bit of a lot of thing, I personally loved using the resistance band and loop, stability and Pilates ball, and those Pilates exercises and variations with lot of reps really burned my muscles nicely.

You found the magic! That is invaluable! I was so delighted when I discovered barre is the magic for my legs. I have read that the "mushy" stage is usual, and haven't experienced it with barre, but I have had that mushy stage with other types of workouts and can't stick through that stage either Barre seems to really speak to my legs, specifically, but fusion work speaks to my abs and overall toning improvement. I love the pilates too, it is awesome for my abs/core and love that the fusiony type workouts add a lot of it!

Lucky you Ebianco! Barre workouts are so much fun! Wish, I could do a barre based rotation, but the mushy stage makes me panic! lol So, I just add them from time to time. I agree about the fusion workouts giving a great abs and overall toning improvements (as you mentioned), they're really great fat burners, I did noticed that my belly got flatter too! Paired with IF I lost a few pounds as well.

I'm curious, for the people who get nice results from barre for their legs and for those that tend to get mushy, are you "apple" or "pear" shaped?
