I had my best (strength) results from a P90X rotation when it first came out - maybe 11 years ago? It was back before I had kids and I could devote the full 90 minutes to the yoga workout each week. My second best was Body Beast about 4 years ago.

I've been working out consistently for 15 years, and really only lost weight when I controlled my diet. I exercise for fitness and strengh - to have the energy to hike, ski, bike, and play with my boys as much as I want.

I did a rotation of CLX a few years ago, and had very good results from that. I lost a lot of weight (I also radically changed my eating habits at the same time), and I did build up quite a bit of muscle and strength.

However, I also felt utterly beat up by the end of it, and developed tendonitis in my elbow that took a long time to go away.

I keep meaning to bring back some of those workouts to mix in with other things, because I think they are really good....but for some reason, I still haven't reached for them.

Best strength results from STS (including 1 Rep Max tests) - nothing else comes close.

Best endurance/leg strength results from FIRM Standing Legs/Gin Miller's Intense Moves while preparing for backpacking trips. I could always tackle the roller-coaster trails of the Rockies. (I hate to admit it, but I think my backpacking days are behind me. Hip problems won't allow use of backpack, I fear. )

Best aesthetic results from FIRM Classics back in the day - but I had the good sense to be 26 years old at the time! It was much simpler back then - a huge thrill every time a new FIRM was released to add into the rotation.

I always credit the Firm Volume 1 for getting me in really good shape. Same goes for Slim Series.

I also had great results from alternating the Firm Classics (plus some from the Total Body Shaping Mix era) with Cathe for cardio. To be fair, I was doing WW at the time, too.

1996 - took up mountain biking when I finally quit smoking for real, and dropped 70 pounds and got super duper fit. I could hang with the guys.

2005 - I had gained a lot of that back from inactivity - took up running, ran a half marathon in October. Discovered kettlebells, and rotated between AOS Providence, Firepower and Newport. Biked a lot, too. Was able to run a 10 mile event the following April with only one 5 mile run in between and I was perfectly okay the next day.

Fast forward to 2014 - gained some of that weight back - it took a while though - and lost 20 pounds of it doing Tracy Anderson and dance (mainly Zumba).

Way back in the day when P90 first came out as in infomercial, I did get good results with that. I think that was the first rotation I ever did. I would never be able to do that again though b/c it seemed very repetitive and boring....no music as I recall.

I got very good results several years back with P90X. I'm not sure I would want to tackle that again due to the length of the workouts. I really don't like 1 hour plus workouts much anymore.

After doing Insanity and Insanity Max 30, I had much increased cardio endurance. But a full rotation of both of those really flared my heel pain and just overall wiped me out. I didn't really drop weight with either of these but I think it was b/c it boosted my appetite.

The problem for me is, what worked or works is so fluid. P90X worked for me several years ago, but what about now? My body has changed in the several years since I did that program so I'm not sure I'd get the same results. I get DOMS quicker and for longer periods, my heel screams at me with high impact, my knee is tweaky sometimes, etc. Now I try to pick things to work around all that other stuff and keep it short and sweet. I liked P90X3 and don't regret getting that for a minute, but I didn't get the same results as with P90X.

Cathe's Pure Strength and MIS got me strong. Slow and Heavy was the icing on the cake.

For cardio, IMAX 1& 2!

I don't know if it's bygone but I just finished an 1800 calorie a day intake and doing one Firm at night, minimum (and preferably) half an hour long and I am down 9 pounds in just over a week! I can hardly believe it myself!! I had put on weight due to my boyfriend's mom dying and it affected him deeply and we actually didn't speak for a while. He was very close to her and he told me he is going to be very distant after he found out his mom was given her Last Rites. Of course not long after that he got the call that she had passed. It was just a terrible time for everyone. Then my job just up and closed up, just like that! The boss told us three days beforehand. I had been there more than a year and it was convenient but wow!!! The good thing is that I found work again easily but that was a tough 3 months without working at my office job that had me eating out of control so when I noticed my panties too tight in my thigh area I said oh no and got back on the ball.

I had thought of running, walking again but EVERY FLIPPING day it was raining and as much as I wanted to do it at night there are no street lights out and too many broken side walks and creepy animals that come out at night. (Possums and snakes are in abundance here) so that held me up too. I visited my local Planet Fitness gym because that $10 a month sounds good but I needed to put down the prorated rate as well and it was $20. That's not much but I am extremely frugal and not working for 3 months I wanted to save up my money for expenses so I didn't do that. Plus I tried the gym route many times and paid for a membership that I never utilized. So finally I went to my dvd collection.

From the days of the vhs workouts, the Firm just always did it for me. Always! I pulled them out, previewed them and with the extra weight I wanted to do 30 minutes max so I got out the shorter tapes. I had felt the extra pounds and thought half hour would work for me. I used 6 pound weights as my heavy weights and got started. My boyfriend finally told me (after not speaking to me for two weeks) that I lost weight in my belly. He says, you look slimmer here and I did. I kept to my routine and I did get on the scale the day before I started and after seeing my pants loose in the leg area I got on the scale. Just Firm and eating right. No low carb or anything. Actually lots of carbs. Frozen meals and water and fruit and veggies. I limited my dessert to 100 calories so I bought the fiber one brownies and cookies to also get things moving along. I am stunned that it was so much weight. I am going to continue onto week two and beyond! I have 7 more pounds to go before I am at my weight before I went on my binge so yeah I put on plenty of weight during that hectic time but I will keep on with my Firms and will adjust the calories when the time comes. People may not like Firms but I love them!!! I have a Barnes and Noble gift card and bought a few off of there and am expanding my collection. I did not like the Firm Express so I will keep with the regular videos and I have plenty!

Wow, good for you and big thumbs up, CoolGirl!!!
Your determination - and results - have motivated me! May I ask which 30 min Firms you were using? The classics were mostly 45-60 mins. Were you using the 'pink' Firms? Or the '6-pack' add-on's from BSS-1?
Thank you and hope things continue to improve for you!

It's motivating to read result like this. I've been focusing on 30 minutes as well. With the dvds being chaptered, it's very doable.
