Aching Hands

For the last couple of weeks after doing a weights routine my hands ache terribly the next day. I am not using heavy weights at all - heaviest is 15 lbs and that's only for back, dead lifts and some squats.

Could I be gripping too tightly? I've tried to stay aware of keeping my grip loose but still my hands really hurt the next day. Granted, I'm kind of old (haha will soon be 61) so maybe arthritis is kicking in. I've also noticed I can't crochet for long periods either without the ache setting in.

Annette, I am experiencing the same thing with my feet. I'm 58. This just started in the last few months. Ugh!! Waiting to hear other people's responses.

If you haven't been evaluated by your preferred medical practitioner(dr, chiro, pt) you may want to have your hands and feet checked out. It could be a pinched nerve, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, or arthritis.

Of course I'm going to suggest Essentrics. The feet and hand/finger exercises have been so helpful for me and others. We spend so much time poking at our phones, on the computer, and doing all those other fine motor activities.

I have chronic peripheral neuropathy.

After being tested and treated by a neuropathy specialist, it was determined that the statin Lipitor probably caused irreversible nerve damage.
My medical doctor had ignored my symptoms for years.

At least, I am doing better at 70 than I was at 60 after finding some wonderful pain relief products

Sorry that you're going through this. I've been suffering also. I'm going to have it checked out soon. I've been told that I have cervical spondylosis (osteoarthritis of the neck). I'm doing everything I can.

Barb, although I don't take Lipitor, I am worried that my blood pressure meds may be doing the same damage.

Hi Jackie - are the feet and hand/finger exercises on a specific DVD? Thanks for the suggestion!

They are sprinkled through the CS episodes. I do know that the Pain Relief videos contain hand and feet workout for sure. Lots of finger work in Season 12, also.

I'd go to the doctors and have the do some blood work. Check to see if you may be having early onset arthritis

Drink More Water and try Vit B complex. My doc said I should take it for the slight neuropathy I have as a side effect of Breast Cancer.

Your body is definatly crying out for help.
