Weird thing about handedness & knitting.
My mother was left handed and taught both my sister and I to knit. Not sure whether she taught us left or right handed.
Both my sister & I did the same thing:
When we picked up our knitting early on, we weren't sure which direction to knit to & just worked out what to do with the right side facing us - whichever way we picked it up. Very quickly, we both learned to knit comfortably with the right side facing us the whole time - no flipping around. So stocking stitch to us, is "all knit" which makes logical sense. Fair Isle & Aran is MUCH easier that way as well.
We discovered that each of us do this decades after we were competent knitters.
I've never known which way is supposed to be right or left handed knitting - which direction each travels.
