Another 57 year old here! Quite a popular age on the forum! I've always been very active-when younger it was tennis, swimming, roller skating, skiing, hiking-mostly outdoor stuff. I got into videos when I was working from 7am to 7pm and it was too dark to do anything outside. I started with Cathe and the Firm and haven't looked back since!
I too have had to introduce a lot of physical therapy maintenance work into my daily routines.
Just comes with age I guess. I do Cathe heavy wts (and boy do I have some muscles underneath the fat layer
) and her HIIT routines, but I rest way longer between intervals than she does. I like HIT because the hi impact is so short it doesn't bother my joints the way steady state high impact did. I also do yoga twice a week and walk daily. Swim 3 days a week, but that is my Zen workout not really exercise. Just relax in the water and swim very slowly. Love it! I've cut back on step because its hurting my feet and stiffening up my knees and hips. I was having to foam roll and tennis ball roll out trigger points constantly. Still love kickboxing and that really loosens up my hips wonderfully.
