But at least you don't have to wait 15 years to read the sequel, like I did.

The first four years we lived here, we lost power maybe once. In the past year, we've lost power with almost every storm that has moved through here. It's like they made a change in the power grid and it affected us negatively. Gotta love Duke Energy. We're in the midst of tossing a lot of stuff as well.

Thanks, Dena. I really did catch up on a lot.

Read because you're mine by Rea Frey last night (could not put it down).

HA, so true! I've been on that road before (mainly waiting for Stephen King to finish the Dark Tower series).

I started The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. I mainly picked it up b/c it's set outside Philadelphia, where my family originated. I don't think I've read anything by her before.

Actually, I was very confused. The Testaments takes place 15 years after The Handmaid's Tale, but it was released 34 years later. I was a completely different person when I read the sequel.

I listened to this because it was read by Tom Hanks. I enjoyed it, especially because of his narration.

Patrice, I am liking it so far, although it's hard to sense where it's going. It reminds me a bit of how author Anne Rivers Siddons writes.

I've read Bel Canto, which was excellent, and State of Wonder, which was just ok.

Still working on Shogun, but into the last third so the end is in sight. Really interesting story with so many political twists and turns.

I also started The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo on audio since I had a long drive over the weekend and it's better than expected so far. Very creepy and suspenseful. The author reads it herself and is surprisingly good.

I loved Bel Canto. Someone gave it to me years ago, and for some reason I never read it until this year.

I finished a surprisingly enjoyable book, Matchmaking for Beginners by Maddie Dawson. It was quirky/funny a little sad.
