Music info in Cathe's upcoming series

Here is some information regarding how Cathe chooses her music for her new series. I got it through her newsletter. I found it interesting and thought I would share it.
She is using remakes based on Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rhianna, Pink, Doobie Brothers, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Taylor Swift, Salt N Pepper, Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, Journey, Aerosmith, The Archies, Earth, Wind and Fire, Chris Brown, Flo Rida.
But its basically what Cathe chooses and her taste in music. It sounds like choosing the music is just as important as coming up with the choreography. I can't wait to get them!

I thought the article was really interesting. I guess I just assumed that the music company had a catalog of "soundalikes" that she would choose from - I didn't realize that they wrote the songs just for the workout.

I like the "soundalike" soundtracks - much more than just generic music. But I know it's not for everyone.

I didn't know that it was that involved either. I really like the sound a like music, but know that some don't. It looks like Cathe is trying to do a range to keep everyone happy by doing classic rock and today's stuff. I'm really looking forward to this new series!

I thought the music was decent on Xtrain, Crossfire and To the Max.

The Low Impact series had terrible music.

But still miles better than the generic music in most other dvds. The same beats and songs over and over in KCM, Amy Bento, Jillian Michaels etc. Not everyone will like the remakes but they definitely not awful - just different. The only other person ho uses good music is Christi Taylor. Turbo Fire was okay but the sound quality stinks.

I wish she would obsess like this over the premixes.

So true!

As for the music, I like what she did on the High Reps/LBB/etc. series, and XTrain as well. I can see not liking these remakes if you listen to the originals, but I don't listen to that type of music, so I don't recognize the songs and they seem new and fun to me during the workouts. Now, the LIS music was pretty darn awful, but I am happy she's doing it this way again.

But, wow--premixes that are well thought out would be wonderful!
