I did a premix for S &S this morning: both workouts together with no swings. Like Tiny said, Kelly alternates upper & lower body, & there are 3 sets of the exercises. Most of the time, each set is 12 reps, but there are times when there's only 6 reps, usually when it's s combo move such as straight arm raises for rear delts/tricep kickbacks & rear lunge/front lunge combo. I foolishly did not preview, but I got away with it & still got a workout. The moves are simple enough & most of the time fairly slow, so I could use pretty heavy (for me) weights. There was one move she sped up to "get it over with," but I can't remember what it was & I stayed slow.
The lower body moves alternated between regular strength & cardio moves: squats, rear lunge/lfront lunge combo, side lunges with threading kb or db through legs, regular jumps, jumping split lunges, skater leaps, & pop/plus squats w/ a db. There are no low impact modifications shown, but there are some weight modifications.
I liked this premix, but sometimes 3 sets got boring, & there were no abs. I had planned on doing abs from the other DVD, but I ran out of time. Also, each body part, at least for the upper body, got 6 sets. I would rather have done 4 sets total & do abs--I will probably do that in the future, hitting the "next" button when I want. Also, there is a music off option.
