Today’s workouts:
~Essentrics class on zoom
~BellyFit Rebel Rising - Did cardio only, about 25 min. It’s the last episode of BF TV season 2, really good, brisk pace with a kickboxing feel.
~5 km trail walk
~Kate Vantucci Yoga (YT): Hip Mobility - This was good, but not easy although it was mostly on the floor, had some challenging strength work. Thanks for recommending her Beth, I look forward to more. She’s a bit goofy but I like her.
~(YT) YogiBethC: Exploring the 8 Pillars of Joy guided meditation - I was inspired by Paine to do this one & it was lovely. I think I might need to get the book.

Waves to all!

Pam & Paine, I would definitely recommend the book; the joy of both men shines through. Also, it's inspiring to read about how much of what they talk about is backed up by science! In fact, I'm now reading another book based on conversations with the Dalai Lama called Buddhism & Neuroscience.

Beth, you'll have to let us know what you think about the Buddhism & Neuroscience book when you finish it.

After the crazy events that unfolded in DC on Wednesday, my afternoon workout almost didn’t happen, but I decided to try a Jessica Smith 1-Mile Walk and Talk Mile on YT, “Walk Off Stress and Tension.” I followed up with Sarah Beth’s 10-minute Beginner Workout for Strength & Toning and then her 10-minute Beginner Stretch.

On Thursday I did KCM Split Sessions, Upper Body and Sarah Beth’s 10-minute Beginner Slow Stretches for Sore Muscles. This was the final set of Sarah Beth’s new 10-minute Beginner series, although I missed one earlier in the week that I’ll do at some point.

Beth: Thanks for sharing your thoughts and review of The Book of Joy. My library has it too, so I’ll check it out. Have you ever read The Positive Psychology of Buddhism and Yoga by Marvin Levin? It was one of the first books on Buddhism that I read back around 2003 when I first began to explore the topic. I have a copy of the 1st edition, but there is a 2nd edition (pub date 2009) available now.

Pam: I agree that "Movement keeps me sane!" That along with meditation.

Pat: Hope things improve at your work and that you have some relaxation plans for the weekend.

Tomorrow is DH's birthday, so I need to plan some low-key celebration. Fortunately, he doesn't like a big fuss made about his getting older even without a pandemic going on.

Carolyn, no, I haven't read that--sounds like a good book for me! I'm adding to my list. My DH doesn't like to do much for his birthday either. Usually we would go out to dinner, but this year, I just made dinner (back in July).

I have to do a fly by - been having a hard time keeping my head in the game the past couple days.

Last night I managed my good old friend, Winsor 20 Minute Workout and Lee Holden 7 Minutes of Magic PM Extended.

While running around doing my Saturday errands I treated myself to tea and lunch at the vegan cafe and then drove out to the new age book store to browse around, and bought myself a couple of meditation crystals as a belated Christmas present.

Hoping you are all well.

Hi!

Sorry to be MIA the last couple days -- I, too, felt affected by last week's events. Anyway, I'm trying to get back on track with

Today's Workout: Essentrics Legs, Butt & Thigh Thinner with Sahra.

Take care everyone!

Thank you Pam. {{HUGS}} I guess we're living through a history book moment but I'm scared.

Anyway - Yoga With Kassandra, Yin Yoga for Digestion. It was more passive than I wanted but I didn't want to find something else once it got started.

I have SO much housework to do.

Happy Sunday everyone!
