I read the intro and the conclusion. I think this guy needs to get a new massage therapist and the fascia doctor guy needs to do more to earn that title. Like actually explain what he thinks fascia is instead of grousing about how no one else does.

Perhaps before tackling a study on fascia you might want to learn a bit about the subject.

This shows the changes that are possible over time. To be honest there is more than fascial release going on. The length and tension of the dysfunctional muscles has changed to allow for a more normal posture. Yet without a release of the binding fascia and stiff connective tissue no change would be possible.

I love Dalton's description of myofascia near the bottom of this article.

Ultra simple explanation of how fascia generates pain.

Another interesting article.

We are lacking science to back up what we see and experience where it comes to myofascial release and pain relief. That's why I went the extra mile to become board certified. (It represents a commitment to research and education) That said, by the tenth time I put an individual in chronic pain through an Egoscue menu and then released the bound up areas I found through massage and myofascial release only to have then walk out the door pain free I was sold.

These are folks who got no relief from PT (sometimes multiple rounds) or pain clinic. That wasn't because there's no value to PT or pain clinic because those treatments didn't target the problem causing the pain.

If you have the stomach for it, http://www.gilhedley.com has videos of dissecting cadavers to see the deep and superficial fascia. It's very interesting but if you're queasy I suggest you stay away.
