Every Day in JANUARY (and a shot at EDI 2021!)

The dog/toddler puddle just made me smile - let's keep smiling this year.

Welcome to the Every Day Checkin!
We are a small group who aim to do some form of physical activity every day, whatever that means for YOU (but don't kid yourself about it either)

This year more than one of us is aiming for Every Day of the Year as well - inspired by it having been DONE in 2020!

NEWCOMERS, RETURNERS, LURKERS,... might as well say:

EVERYONE
is WELCOME!

Daily posts - not mandatory, nor even "sternly preferred" - but we love it if you do.
Weekly posts, drive-by notes, daily essays all about you.... any of those are perfectly fine - no pressure, EXCEPT to diligently try to add serious movement to your day - every day.

Lexicon:
WERD = Well Earned Rest Day, but even rest days can include movement
TERD = Totally Expected Rest Day, though not especially well-earned, like a planned happy event
TURD = Totally Unexpected Rest Day, hopefully also a happy event
HERD = of TURDS - usually declared after the THIRD TURD in a row. Try to avoid these at all costs, as they can move in & get comfortable, getting OUT of your comfort zone is the way to make change happen

• Joined Pam's Sadhana (with Lili as well). I NEVER do enough stretching OR meditation & I definitely stop thinking about anything except the workout when doing yoga - mind is CLEAR - need to shift that mindset of it needing to be hard work to count.
• Fancied working chronologically through my Cathe's (inspired by that thread in GD). Sticking to just main workouts, I'll need to do one every second day.

Fri., 1st Jan.
30min, morning dog walk
35min, Adriene - 30 Day Yoga Challenge (2015) - Day 01 East Into It, for Sadhana
40min, afternoon dog walk
56min, Cathe - Step N Motion 1 (1990), 6", NO jumping, for Cathe chrono.
40min, late night dog walk

Buddy is out today - final day of having a house-guest

I hope you ALL have a fabulous start to the year!
I hope we get some newbies to join us (new people are always nice).
I hope we all 'Get it DONE in 2021!!"

Helen - Thank you for the wonderful start to a new month and a new year! Love the dog and child! Made me smile, too!

1/1 - Run, Walk & Lift 3 Miles from Leslie's site.
MFML New Year Refresh from YouTube.

This was another new Leslie workout without Leslie, filmed this year, since the cameramen are wearing masks. I'm wondering if Leslie is retiring or just being extra cautious because of the pandemic?
12 days of yoga or meditation so far! I may just make it! Full disclosure, I'm doing relatively short practices, trying to build up to longer ones.

Good morning - it's Saturday - the weekend!

LILI
Way to go on sticking with the yoga for 12 days straight - you son knows you;
If Leslie is retiring, she chose good people to take over for her - they have the same chirpy positivity that she has.

Drizzled all day yesterday, and is looking similar today and the garden is LOVING it! My ponytail palm is covered in flower buds.

INTRODUCTIONS:
Didn't realise, until I checked in on a tablet that my pics are usually too big.
Reduced the font size one notch as well. Usually I'm on a 27" screen so didn't realise what the intros looked like on an 11" - nobody told me. Because you're all so kind.

If anyone wants to take over doing the intros, or do one now & then... - jump in - my nose will NOT be put out of joint. It's totally cool with me. Do your own, copy/paste mine.... I'm SO easy going about it, it's a non-issue for me. The ONLY reason I usually do them is because I'm 14 hours ahead of VF time.

The year has begun, hope to see both new and familiar people join in for this both challenges: "Every Day in January" AND "Every Day of the Year"
Let's grab this year and GO with it.

Happy New Year my friends! I’m so glad to see the end of 2020!

Jan 1:
~Body Groove: HIIT #1 - I caved and bought a year sub, it was such a good deal. This was fun, I think I’m going to enjoy it
~Barre3: 30 min mindful strength with Sadie
~Neighbourhood walk - it was a wet blustery day, but we just had to get out.
~BellyFit Shakti Warrior: Free Flow
~Body Groove: Relax & Release Meditation

Thanks for starting us off in style as always Helen! I’m so glad you’ve joined the Sadhana.

Lili - I’m doing shorter practices too. Some aren’t necessarily pure yoga, but my focus is uplifting practices so I include BellyFit as it is new agey & often quite yoga-ish. I’m also enjoying the short flow style practices of Namaste Yoga on Prime tv.

Waves to Cleda!

Need my arrow

and to say hello. I actually put an arrow in the Endurance check in before here?!? What's up with that.??? (I lurk over there sometimes for good info).

Helen: I think because you are the 14 hours ahead of us --- that you've got the job for life!!! We love it, you love it, you do a great job soooooo ... No complaints here.

But yoga ... sorry ladies. Not joining you on this one! Short, uplifting or whatever ... nope! Not going there! But wait - is there a badge involved? (tee-hee, obviously I'm kinda punchy)

But, I am exhausted, so just going to post and run.

1/1/2021: (oh that looks weird). Hydrow: one 30 minute Sweat with some 70s rock, 2 10 minute Breathe sessions **, followed by my new strength challenge for Peloton: 10 minutes core, 10 minutes chest & back, 20 minutes Upper Body. Then did a 45 minute New Year's Eve ride with Jess King (she's a hoot and kinda wild ride, but I did enjoy it), followed by a 5 minute cool down ride & a 5 minute stretch

** I did the first breath session (marked #2) then I thought, "OH NO ... what if i have to do them in order to get a badge?????" So I went back and did #1. too silly.

Ok, need sleep. I hope to do the month long strength challenge. We'll see. Lots of variety. Will do me good.

make it a great night.

OK I’ll jump in here. Altho this will post 1/2/2021, it’s still the first for me. Here in cold, snowy NE Oklahoma. (Many around us got lots of ice, but skipped us) Today I did 2 Mile Endurance Walk off Chris Freytag’s streaming app Get Healthy U TV
Then Pahla B’s. Day 1 of new Weight Loss Challenge
Then (I couldn’t go outside, what else was I supposed to do?) a short 1.5 mile with Reps to the Rhythm. He is so darn cute! (I’m 67...does this make me a bad person?)

More tomorrow. Nite

Oh lookey lookey ....

A NEW person!!!!

Welcome happyladi! (if you lurk at all you know that i'm the talker and Helen will jump in with some flashy wonderful "welcome" banner!) It is so nice of you to join us! I am not familiar with "Reps to the Rhythm" so who is this person (we need to go check out?!?) and absolutely not. you're 67 and vibrant so no! not a bad thing at all

I had a subscription to Chris Freytag's service ions ago (when they had a $3. deal or something silly) but just couldn't work the workouts in so let it go. I did maybe two the entire year. But she is definitely good!

Well, look at that - I went to see what I had to post and low and behold, I am up to date until I work out again. so I guess this is just a "welcome to HappyLadi!" post.

Welcome Happilady! Always glad to have more people join it!
I also enjoy Reps to the Rhythm and think his smile is infectious! I'm 68, so no judgement. My problem with him is that the last time I did one of his workouts there were 3 ads in the middle. I find that frustrating.

I still need to work out today, just wanted to jump in and say hello!

hahaha Cleda - it's Sunday morning, but BEFORE you posted, the stuff below was ready to post - just hadn't hit the button on it UNTIL I could add what I did for the day.

Welcome board happyladi!! Tell me, what was the clincher to join us? It was the toddler/dog/puddle gif wasn't it? Don't tell me otherwise. I just KNOW it was!

Oh, Chris Freytag - I've done some of hers lately via YouTube with my buddy (we FaceTime simultaneous workouts), and a couple of us have tried Phala B as well.

Appreciating cute does NOT make you a bad person. Doing bad things might though, but it would depend on the reason they were done.

HI PAM & LILI - knew you'd make it!
• We're still waving at YOU KAY!

Business
Sat., 2nd Jan.
29min, Tim Senesi - 30 Day Yoga Challenge - Day 0
weird, that day "0" actually has 29 min of yoga.
30min, dog walk, she ran in ALL the muddy puddles
