That type of equipment (suspension trainers) doesn't appeal to me at all but I like the look of the TRX better than the XT. The TRX looks less complex to set up and it looks stronger.

I assume they would be. To use it exactly like the TRX, just put it into a single unit and anchor it like the TRX.
You could probably also keep the handles apart and still use it the same way. One side benefit of the XT is that you don't have to use the single handle mode as with the TRX. Just let go of the second handle and hold onto one.

http://www.bwculture.net/Articles.asp?ID=177 it's like a suspension system but with a ladder so you don't have to stop and change lengths...anyone tried this? |

I thought about getting one there were 2 reasons why I didn't. Let's say you're in a position where you're holding onto a rung in the middle section. You'd have to deal with the lower part swinging around as you're doing the movements. I think I'd find this to be annoying in time, especially if I'm doing movements where my legs are in towards it, like a rowing motion. The second reason is that I had no intention whatsoever of using it for climbing. The ability to climb up it seems to be a major selling point but I think it'd be dangerous. A similar move could easily be done on rings or the XT and would be very safe.

Any of the dvds for the TRX can be used with any version of the Jungle Gym. They're on the pricey side but you can get them at fitnessanywhere.com for 25% off and free shipping by using the code TRXMAS at checkout. Even though the website says the code/offer is good for 3 days, when you click "offer details," it says it's good until 12/31/10. I think last year, they made the special from Thanksgiving to the end of the year. If you want to get anything from Fitness Anywhere, now is the time to get it.

I like this better than any of the suspension trainers I've seen, although it is hard to know how sturdy it actually is.
