Question Spin Bike Question

My husband wants this Peloton Spinning Bike. Does anyone have one, know anyone who does. I'm looking for reviews. It is pricey (in my opinion). Thanks.

As long as a spin bike is belt driven (not magnetic) with at least a 40-45 lb fly wheel, has handlebars and a seat that are both adjustable up, down, fore and aft, you should be good. You can get a really nice one for $800 +/- depending on if you catch it on sale. I have read that Tour de France ones do not hold up. No actual experience with them myself, but the online reviews over time aren't super good.

Can't help with your question, BUT, if he gets one, a nice add on is a spinning cadence and HR meter. I just got one and love it.

Did your husband get this? I just started doing their classes and love them. Although I have a spin bike, I would love to own a Peloton bike. They are pricey, but it would be great to have all the stats.

It is such a cool bike, and on top of the expenses, there is a monthly subscription fee that is quite high to use the streaming portion. If i could afford it and my husband wanted it, I'd be like hell ya!

I have been taking the classes everyday since I signed up and I have to say the app is very addicting. I would love the bike but I am really hesitant to buy something with such a high price tag sight unseen.

I have an older spin bike and it is time to upgrade, however, I wish I could find more reviews on the actual bike

I don't think you CAN buy the bike without paying the $40 per month subscription, right? Are there different workouts on the subscription versus the app, which you could plug into a larger tv, buy a cheaper bike, and really save a lot per year.

I just saw a commercial for the bike on the FXX channel. Of course it said nothing about the price.

It's 1995 for the bike and 250 for shipping/installation.....It seems expensive but the price is comparable to other spin bikes with the same features (belt drive, magnetic resistance, carbon fiber frame etc) plus you get the 22" screen.

There are more features to the subscription service than the Ipad app. In addition to the live and on demand classes there are also nature rides (like virtual active) and the screen also displays your stats for the ride (distance, cadence, calories, output, etc.) It also saves all of our stats and shows you your progress. If you are the competitive type you can also become part of the virtual class where members are ranked on a leaderboard.

This bike is such a great concept! I kept thinking for years that if someone could come up with a way to produce virtual spin classes they would have a gold mine....I wish I knew John Foley!

I have included the link below with more info....I am so drooling over this bike but I really want to sit on it and ride it before I make that kind of commitment....
