Spinners, how long do you spin?

This is my only cardio right now as everything else aggravates my left hip or my right knee or both.

Spinning really seems to help both - it's like therapy somehow. But I have built my time gradually so as not to strain anything - I am doing 30 minutes now, but I can't seem to get my HR very high yet, even going what seems like all out for short periods. I am using Cardio Coach interval workouts.

Interested in what others are doing and liking.

I ride between 30-45 minutes 1-2x per week.

I'm using Les Mills on Demand RPM workouts and Cathe cycling DVDs, usually the premixes.

Sabine, do you measure your heart ride when you ride?

I do. I'm typically in the low 160s for hill climbs and intervals. I'll drop to the 150s for fast flats. I'll burn about 10-12 calories per minute during the working phase.

I guess I need to build up strength before I can see a higher HR. It seems like I'm going all out but HR stays below 120. I've been riding about a month.

I tend to crank up the resistance which helps keep my heart rate high.

+1. It may be time to increase resistance when climbs don't spike your heart rate.

Right now, once a week but I might increase it to two. I usually do one of Cathe's spin DVDs or a Spinerval. The workouts usually check in at around 45-55 mines. I'm having back/hip issues now, so I modify as needed (I have never gotten much out of those stupid hover/stand segments---stupid to me, I'm sure there are folks that love them).

I'm using Peloton 1-2 times per week. I either do a 45 minute session or a 30 minute interval workout. For me it's standing with some resistance and speed challenge that gets my HR up.

Before Peloton, I used Cathe's workouts.

I spin 1-3x per week. Sometimes I do 30 min of spin and 30 min of a different form of cardio, or 60 min of spin.

My heart rate typically gets around 75% of my max, which is 130-135. I cannot use too much resistance due to knee issues, but when I did I would get closer to 80-90% of my max.
