The most popular blogs are Twentysomehings who are wearing head to toe designer, posing in some exotic location. That ain't me.

So, I've decided to start a blog for us hip middle-aged gals who are interested in relatable fashion, fitness (there is a shout out to videofitness.com), and life events that are relevant to us over 40. My blog is not fancy, my photographer is my 15 year-old son who has to work off the debt of a lost spanish book! Truth be told...I can't afford to go on any exotic vacations (and won't for some time) because I have 2 kids in college and an expensive high school band kid!

Call it a mid-life crisis or something else, but I have a desire to be relevant even though the season of youthfull beauty and energy have long since past. I'm excited to see what's going to replace it!

http://gracefulmiddleaging.com/ See you there!
Good for you! So over the overly dolled-up, show-offy fashion blogs these days. I like yours, keeping it real but still looking good!

Here is mine, if you want to pop by: Globetrotting in Heels

Good luck! Blogging is a great outlet and it can be a lot of work, but also great to create your own community.

Thanks bonbon
Visiting family in Italy right now so I'm not posting as often, but that will change once I get back to Zurich :-)

It is fun to read the variety of information on everyone's blogs here. I began mine recently after resisting for a long time. I'm trying to discipline myself to write once a week - I can't find time to do it daily unfortunately. Writing a story is fun but also works better when you're in 'the mood' and it is quiet(er). Enjoy yourself!

Great post!

The awkward years are the worst.
Of course, you did not look awkward in the least.

But you seem more thoughtful than the stereotypical type who looks as good as you in those pictures. To an East Coaster, this boggles the mind ...maybe you grew up amongst pageant queens, gymnastics "golden girls", cheerleaders, flashy debate champs, homecoming princesses and the like.

Everything is relative ...
