Watches

Does anyone still wear a watch?
I want to see if I need one.

Always! My career before retirement was very much about timing and schedule and I like to be on time. My Fitbit is also a watch & I wear it every day.

Yes. I have one I keep in the car so I can have it available. Apparently I can't be relied on to actually put the watch on first thing in the morning and leave it in place. At home there are clocks everywhere, so I don't really need it til I get away from the car.

woudn't you use your phone for a clock now a days?

that's why, 'm thinking I don't need one. Every where I look there is a clock. One in every room and the car. so, I guess I don't need one any more

Yes I need to time several components in my work all day long, and traditional wall clocks are not available. I wear enormous colorful watches to make it fun.

I started wearing a watch in retirement. While I worked, the clocks and routines of my job shuffled me through the day. In retirement, I needed a way to claim my time as my own, hence my watch. Also, it glows in the dark when I hit a button, so I can see what time it is in the middle of the night (when I wake up, I'm curious how much I've slept and how much more sleep I get).

It's a cheap plastic thing. I think I paid 12$ for it. It's got a timer and a stopwatch, and it's waterproof.

watches are still useful. i use them in tests to calculate how much time i have left when i can't have my phone out. i still buy battery powered clocks for the house too. they've all come in handy when a major storm came around.
