I do all my inside workouts barefoot. I have for at least 15 years. I just find it so much easier to move around barefoot.

Outside walking shoes I struggle with. I have wide feet and it's hard to find wide shoes that fit good for my feet. I also believe strongly that not wearing the right shoe adds to injuries. My daughter who is a runner is a testament to that. My son convinced her to change up her shoes and she did for 1 1/2 years and started having knee, hip and lower back pain. She went back to her old brand and most of the pain went away. Also, my PT told me walkers and runners should have 2 pairs of shoes and to alternate them daily and strongly recommends that 500 mile rule. So I keep replacing my shoes hoping I will find that holy grail of a perfect shoe.

I have 4 pair of shoes. One for cardio and one for lifting and two for walking that I alternate and replace every year. Barefoot when I do yoga.

I voted 3+ years. I have no idea how old these shoes are, but they still look good and they feel good, so I'm not going to change them until I have to.

Ok, now I know how old they are. I searched my order confirmations just now and saw that I bought these in 5-31-2008! I also remember that I wore out my previous shoes before trying these, so I think I've been using these since 2010 or 2011.

Ah, you're lucky you can wear shoes that long without issues. Once I notice foot/ankle pain while working out it is time to change shoes. So very frequently for me (6 months or so). But then I take those old workout shoes and turn them into dog walking shoes!

I have specific shoes for specific workouts.

I do barre and P.volve barefoot, although I have a ton of sticky socks and the Nike sticky shoes.

I have a pair of light sneakers that I use specifically for Zumba and dance workouts. I have a separate pair for the treadmill. And then I have a third pair of sneakers for when I go out and run errands. The going out pair are the ones that wear out faster.

I'm a bargain hunter and I buy backups of the shoes that I really like. I wear size 11 and sometimes it's impossible to find my size but other times I get really lucky and can buy them at a huge discount. One time I found a bunch of Mizuno running shoes in my size for less than $20 a pair at Footlocker.com, I bought them all and they served me well for years!
