Netflix "New Releases" are not really new...

Why is it that the new releases section does not actually list the newest releases? For example, when I scroll through new releases/sport and fitness, it includes Cardio Overdrive (which is not new) but it does not include the latest Firms that were released December 2nd, that they do have. Is there a better way to search for what is new?

Go here :
http://www.netflix.com/AllNewRelease...AllNewReleases
to see Netflix new releases for the week. I believe they are new each Monday.

GBW, I'm glad you brought this up. The last time I saw that page with all of the releases for the week in all the genres was more than 6 months ago. I can reach that page by clicking on Jeanne's link here but I'm not able to reach it otherwise. When I click on the tab "New Releases" I simply get a page with several categories with about 5 "recently released" dvds for each one, which I can scroll horizontally. (And as GBW said, they are not really new.) Jeanne, how did you get that page??

In the page that I get there is a category "Released in the last:" and there is a drop-down menu for me to choose "week" but again, it's a horizontal slide of just a few dvds. I bookmarked your link but I'd really like to know how one usually arrives at that page.

ETA: I just called Netflix and the person I spoke to said Jeanne's page was taken down a while ago. She herself did not know how to access this page until I spelled out the URL. And yet it still exists. Hope it continues to do so. Thanks again for the link Jeanne!

I put the Firm 500 calorie burn in my cue and it said "Very long wait". (LOL).

I don't mind the wait.

Yes - bookmark my link (which I got from somebody a long time ago) because it's the only way to get to that page of weekly new releases. You can't get there from the Netflix website. They screwed up royally.

Thanks from me too. That list has several I didn't realize they had and I've put them in my queue.

They didn't screw up, it was deliberate. They don't want everyone demanding the latest releases.
So, I think this should remain our secret or they might annihilate this page.

The same thing happened to me when I put one of The Bar Method's dvds. It came a week later!
