Hi! I am sorry for not posting.

Monday I took a rest day because my neck/back/shoulders were all really stiff and tight. I did not do a formal workout, but I did get in over 9,000 steps.

Tuesday:
one hour NIA dance Class
Yoga with Bird-yoga for low back pain/release (my back still felt off)

Today will be another rest day, but I may do yoga later. I have my yearly physical at 2pm. Ugh...not looking forward to it. My bloodwork showed I have low iron and vitamin D and my cholesterol went up-too much pandemic baking of cookies and homemade bread and homemade pizza! I was hoping the amount of cardio I do and eating oatmeal with flaxmeal several times a week would counter that, but I guess it didn't. Well, the numbers would likely be worse without those things. I don't eat red meat and hardly ever eat anything fried, so it must be the extra cheese and baking. Sigh..I do not want to go on medication. I think if I cut back on those things it will go back down. At least my blood sugar was fine.

Beth, I am so glad you did not have exposure to your co-worker. I hope you are having a better week than last week.

Linda, how is your quad feeling? Congrats on the wonderful bloodwork!

Pam, how are you feeling today? Great step count!

Sandra, I am happy you enjoyed your workout.

Cyana, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Hi to anyone I missed.

Sherry

Sherry, knock wood, but I am having a better week so far, at least work-wise...still feeling covid malaise. I hope that your physical goes smoothly and that your doctor will find your other efforts to be enough to manage your cholesterol.

Pam, it is like whack-a-mole...except that there are always new moles!

Happy Wednesday/Hump Day! I might look for some humor later.

Good morning! Pretty decent day for me:

~ Pre-walk routine and 30 butt lifts;
~ Lunch walk (1.11, 26 mins.);
~ GYM for 10 minutes treadmill, cable machine PT and some weight machines;
~ Annie Carpenter, Yoga Nidra for Deep Ease
~ Over 8,000 steps

Beth, I'm so happy that you're feeling better. It's hard to keep your chin up. I'm especially feeling the COVID-days (what used to be holidays) coming up and trying to figure out Thanksgiving.

Sherry, good luck with your annual and I hope your back keeps feeling better. 9,000 steps is nothing to sneeze at!

Pam - your DH is spot on - Whack A Mole! It's a good thing we have so much at our disposal to help deal with the Pain du Jour.

Make it a great day everyone!

Give Me Strength (Upper Body work plus Abs and Stretch)
YouTube: Gentle Follow-Along 20-Minute Mobility Workout with Dr. Ben Kim

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsEZ...nnel=Dr.BenKim

This morning I chose Give Me Strength because it is one of Margaret's shortest yet effective Upper Body workouts. I added on her abs and stretch/cool down because I like those segments.

I thoroughly enjoyed the YouTube Mobility workout with Dr. Ben Kim. It felt great and I felt nicely stretched afterwards.

Pat and Beth, I feel bad that I can't invite my 2 sons and their girlfriends over for Thanksgiving. This is definitely a weird year for all of us.

Beth, thanks for the Wednesday comic!

Sherry, what is Bird-yoga?

Beth thanks for sharing the hump day funny - made me smile! I also hope your co-worker who tested positive for COVID is okay.

Paine do laws in your state prohibit family gatherings?

Linda I don’t do long Leslie walks as I can find the moves irritating for my body. And I’m with you re simple workouts with less equipment!

Sandra your rain sounds lovely! We have had humid spring weather and I’m loving the sun and blue skies.

Sherry sorry to hear about the neck and shoulder stiffness on Monday.

This week I have been doing mainly body weight exercises, using a book titled The 10 Minute Man. It has a series of ten minute routine which you can mix and match. Some are metabolic conditioning or metabolic resistance training; some are stretch or yoga-ish routines; some at HiiT. I’m kind of liking using body weight (though I sub weights for the pull ups) and using a book and no or little equipment makes is short and sweet. Yes, it’s written for men but I still find the routines to be good .

Anny, you can definitely get a good workout with body weight exercises! I have never in my life been able to do a single pull up. I'm a wus!
There isn't a law against family gatherings although they strongly urge people to continue to social distance especially since Los Angeles is a hot spot for coronavirus cases and the cases are rising.
