Lift & Shift Decision Thread

Jessica has announced her program - info is at https://www.liftandshift.us/ - so I think it's time for a new thread.

The existing threads are focused on the announcement process and on whether there will be DVDs (no, at least at first), and I know those discussions will continue for a long time. Let's have this thread be about the workouts, the rotation, the "group" concept, and most importantly,

whether you are going to buy it!

I haven't decided yet. I expected to buy it, but am a little surprised that the workouts (some of them) are over 30 minutes; there are several in the 50-minute range. And the program is strongly focused on lifting, which I like, but I do need cardio. (Jessica has lots of cardio to supplement with, of course, but will I have time?)

Then again, I feel like I need to work out harder, and longer workouts is one way to do that. It just means I need to get control of my morning schedule again, lol.

Good idea on starting a new thread. Here is what I put in the other thread:
I'm disappointed. I guess I was hoping for kind of a Walk Strong 4. It looks like there are no cardio workouts. Also, part of the reason I gravitate to home workouts is the flexibility they offer. Having a deadline to sign up doesn't work for me. I don't think I'll be signing up this time. The email says the "course" will be offered again in June. Maybe then. I have more flexibility with time in the summer.

I’m torn. I love Jessica and want to support her; to me the workouts look good and interesting. But $97 seems like so much money; I have been doing a lot of amazing free YouTube workouts. Really not sure what I will do. If it was anyone but Jessica I would probably not buy the program.

Strength, mobility, and minimal cardio = I’m in!

I’m going to pass. Too many cons:

The 97 dollar price tag for Digital - no dvds
Group check ins for accountability - ugh, not for me. I’m a loner Dottie, a rebel!
There will be music according to the fine print but it was noted that many tempos would be used, which means I’ll be working off beat at times - not a fan.

I do wish Jessica success in her venture though!

I’m not a check-in person, either, but it’s an option, not a requirement.

I think the program looks great, and I really trust Jessica for a safe and smart lifting program. I would be excited to try this. She has a way of making regular working out seem so fresh for me. This one seems like a good approach to long term fitness building and maintenance.

But I will wait for DVDs. I wish her well with this new project, and look forward to joining in when there are DVDs!

Thanks for starting a new thread.

ETA: I'm not such a big check in person either right now.
