I'm cautious in most of my backbends too. One particular pose that has always felt super-awkward to me is shoulderstand...I just can't get comfortable in it (and I don't teach it). But I love the variation of supported legs up on a block!
I've been doing Tara Brach's Compassionate Meditation Challenge, which is every day for 10 days. Today is Day 7. I have listened to Tara's talk and done her meditation each day (about 10-15 minutes total), but she also includes longer interviews with some famous others (today is Sandra Oh; she's also had Elizabeth Gilbert, Caroline Kennedy), and I've only kind of half-listened to those. I'm also planning to start reading Max Strom's A Life Worth Breathing tonight--has anyone else read this one?

Congrats for those almost done!
I did start my reading last night but only read a little. I might do Yoga for Tim tonight since today's practice is only 30 minutes.

Pam, I can do plow (on a good day!), but it's another pose I tend to avoid. Once in a great while I'll still do a Pilates rollover.
Today I started a Yoga for Tim practice, but it was a little more strength-based than I had expected, so I only did about 12 minutes (I had already done a tough weights workout!). I used my time for meditation instead.

Mmm, Pat, that sounds like a nice practice! I don't think I've done anything with RS since that older DVD he had.
