Exclamation Collage is allowing phony reviews on their site!

http://www.collagevideo.com/forum/tm...mpage=1#116885

I just want to share this thread with people. Collagevideo.com is allowing people to leave phony/multiple reviews for their products which effects the quality of the review system. Just a heads up.

is the link to the workout in question... it looks like someone is just trying to start a fake review chain like they did for the Amazon howling wolf t shirt, where people by the hundreds started reviewing that the shirt changed their life. I think people do this all the time, trying to exert their power to start a joke... but I am disappointed that the Collage Moderator found nothing wrong with the reviews.
If I were the instructor for the workout, or someone looking to buy it, I would want those gone. They're pointless and IMO demeaning of the instructor and the people who want to buy the video.

Anyhow, ticks me off, but I guess I don't go by their reviews anyhow, and it seems like people in their forum are a bit miffed too...

Yes that's the DVD.

Some people I suppose have too much time on their hands.

That's crazy. I feel that many reviews are written by instructor supporters/friends. It is too bad... now we have to have take the reviews with a grain of salt.

That's disappointing.
Not that long ago VFers found that people, presumably someone who was associated with, if not the actual, instructors, were copying and pasting (selectively, too) their posts from VF and making them into Collage reviews; you can read more about it on this thread: Copying of VF reviews on other sites (was Someone also copied my review @ Collage!), which is currently a sticky at the top of the GD.

I've been following that thread with interest too. I was amazed that Collage said that the reviews didn't violate their policy - can't they just admit they were wrong and remove the offensive reviews?

I've often wondered about some of the reviews Collage lets through, especially those which make disparaging remarks about instructors' bodies, and now it appears that they don't really care much about the integrity of their reviews system.

The conclusion is obvious - VF is the best site for reviews you can really trust!

I am disappointed in a lot of the reviews at Amazon. I hate it when people write negative reviews because of the amount of time it took to get the product or something similar that has nothing to do with the product itself. I've also seen positive reviews by people looking forward to the release of a product, but the product hasn't even come out yet. I complained to Amazon, but they said those types of reviews don't violate their policies either.

I don't understand the point of them having a review process if all of the reviews get published. That's a shame this has been an on going issue and that they, collage, don't feel the need to correct it. I'm really shocked that they would allow instructors or anyone for that fact, to copy and paste the words of someone else into the reviews. Then to not delete the reviews is horrible. I dunno, after this Totalfitnessdvds.com looks a lot better in my eyes. I don't think Mary would stand for that!

Collage seems mainly concerned with language (they want to be squeaky clean and wholesome, which is tricky when you're selling "Sexy Hot Bikini Abs") and the names of competitors (if you mention Beachbody or Amazon, they'll take that out). That seems to be the main thrusts of their review of reviews process.

I don't really read many reviews on collage anymore. It's so obvious when all the reviews are extremely positive, written on the same day, or there are 75 reviews for a workout that's been out for a few days. If I want an honest opinion, I usually ask my friends on Collage's forum. And I have to say that I buy from Totalfitnessdvd.com more than collage these days. With the 10% off, free shipping for $19 and more, plus the rewards system they have, you can't beat the value. And the customer service is just as good as Collage.
