I finished The Power of the Dog by Thomas Savage and it was amazing. It's going to be a movie with Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Moss. I hope it will be available somewhere where I can see it.

I am about to finish The Huntress by Kate Quinn. I've really enjoyed it. It's a good historical novel.

I've also jumped ship on The Plover and Rabbit Cake. I should stay away from "Best of..." lists. I'm too picky.

I decided to reread The Golbin Emperor. I think the author totally got carried away with all the language/formal title components, but the story is fairly good.

This may be a bit dull, but VERY informational! I'm reading Metabolic Atophagy by Siim Land. All about fasting and keto eating and how your body reacts to that way of eating.

Not necessarily entertaining, but very educating. And it's working for me. ;-)

Wow, seems like you were lucky to get the new EJ book.

I just did a quick listen of "I Owe You One" by Sophie Kinsella. Very light and pretty predictable but entertaining, I guess.

Now I'm almost through "Catch and Kill" by Ronan Farrow. I was really expecting something a little more interesting after the reviews I read, but maybe I'm just getting to that part.

Kate, I'm going to check out that book you mentioned -- thanks!

I'm currently immersed in Peter Robinson's Careless Love and will probably finish it by the weekend. I this series!

Ebooks on hold at my library with a wait of anywhere from 2 to 19 (!!) weeks:
  • Death at La Fenice (Donna Leon)
  • The American Agent (Jacqueline Winspear)
  • Refugee (Alan Gratz)
  • This Tender Land (William Kent Krueger)
  • The Girl Who Lived Twice (David Lagercrantz)

Just finished “The Beantown Girls” by Jane Healey. I enjoyed it. Takes place during WWII and is about the Red Cross Clubmobile girls.

Now onto my Halloween read, “Haunted Hamlet” by Kathi Daley. Another in one of her cozy mystery series.

Just couldn't read The Poisonwood Bible and The Bear and the Nightingale. Based on other books I've read and liked you'd think I'd have enjoyed them, but I couldn't get into them at all.

The Willoughbys ? Never heard of that one.

It does seem that my reading preferences have shifted in recent years which might be part of it. I've kept track on GoodReads so I know which books I actually finish. Reviewing that list has helped me figure out more clearly what holds my attention.
