I purchased two of these.
K&H Pet Products Thermo-Kitty Heated Pet Bed Large Mocha 20" 4W https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00403MX9O..._qjwpCb1YWDM9Q I had originally purchased one for my kitty who deals with hyperthyroidism. She loved it immediately. Then my other cat discovered it and there were daily tussles over who would get to it first. I had the second bed overnighted to me. Best purchase ever!

So sorry for your loss. Something I learned the hard way -- pets grieve. Very hard to comfort them because you can't explain. I don't blame you for not getting another cat. I don't think I will get any more pets either. Too hard emotionally especially at a time in my life when friends and relatives are dying, too.

I'm so sorry for your loss. In his final years of life, my dear old cat would nap on the sunshine on the floor in the front room.
One cold day I put a heating pad set very low under his cushions, and he loved it, so I just left it there. If he'd been the sort to chew on cords I wouldn't have done it, but it seemed to work out fine.

Just wanted to offer my sympathy. We lost our two oldest cats in October. Wilson was 15 and we were blessed to have another 15 months with him after his diagnosis of congestive heart failure. Boots was a complete surprise although in hindsight his heart symptoms were there - he fell asleep in our cat tree taking a nap and never woke up. At least it was peaceful and no trip to the vet. Our other two cats were just 3 so we adopted two more brothers
I hope you find just the right heated bed for her. At 18 it makes perfect sense not to add another cat. |

Thanks for all of your kind words, everyone! I really appreciate it.
I may get more cats some day, but I want to be cat-free for a little while (after Chloe departs) so I can take a long vacation without worrying what my cats are thinking (are they missing me? are they worried that I won't ever return?). I know I'm silly, but I just hate to think of them being afraid and missing me. Donna
