Anyone had this surgery? Any advice?

I didn't have mine removed, but I did have a biopsy done about five years ago. I don't know how a biopsy and full removal compare, but once the local wore off, it hurt (a lot) to swallow and move my jaw. I was 100% better about ten hours after the surgery -- no pain or discomfort whatsoever.

I hope your surgery goes well and you have a quick and full recovery.

Thanks for the well wishes! I have gone through ultrasound, CT scan, and fine needle aspiration. First two we were inconclusive. Initial results of fine needle aspiration were benign with final results being inconclusive. So surgery was recommended. The scar does not bother me, but general anesthesia and surgery in my neck has me anxious. Not to mention the forced inactivity has me bummed. I have not had to be inactive in almost 40 years when I ruptured my L5 disc.
