What's your opinion on BOSU?

I'm thinking of acquiring another gadget. Hubby probably not too happy, but he's trained not to say much regarding my workout gadget...

Do you have one? Do you like it? Do you use often? If you have to do it all over again, would you buy it?

Thanks!

I've had a BOSU for many years now and don't use it anywhere near as much as I thought I would. Since I do use it a bit, I hang on to it, but i am not sure that i would buy it again given the choice.

The only DVDs I use are the abs section of Seasun's CIA workout and sometimes Candace Copeland's Core Synergy. I have not really found any other BOSU DVDs that I like. Most of the other ones out there are more instructional in nature.

I've had one for years and have only used it once or twice, and that was at least 8-9 years ago. It's sitting in the garage and I should probably take it to Play it Again Sports but I'm too lazy to bother with that.

I'm another one who has a Bosu but doesn't use it often. You probably are itching to get one, but you might want to save your money......

I have a BOSU and while I love the idea of it, I don't use it very often.

How much use do you think you’ll get out of it?

If you want to learn stability....do yoga

If you want to do those touch the ball things and hop up and down, get a UGI.

If you want to bend over backwards on it... get a stability ball.

Just think of how it would help you reach your goals

Otherwise: watcha going to do with it??? It’s very big, do you have the space.?

Think on it for 21 days and see if you still want it. Then make the hunt for one.

Thanks. Look like I should look for a pre-loved one... maybe it'll be collecting dust.

Here's my answer:

I have the space allocated for it lol.

I've been thinking about it since the beginning of the year... and will get it for Christmas. I have those other gadgets except UGI. Why UGI instead of BOSU...? What's so special about UGI?

I'd like to step on it, so cardio + balance. Core work. Strength + balance. So basically balance work. As I get older I think that becomes important.

For me, I like that I can do a lot with it more than my stability ball. I was just giving thoughts on why and when we purchase items, I ask.. is it really necessary. I thought I’d love to walk in my bedroom, got it during the winter, so I was justifying that when it’s cold out I can still walk. Well, I know I’ve not been on that thing fo 40 days this whole year.

Some other dvds or instructors got me hyped up, not a good fit..

We live a consumer world. Better, bright, faster, but in reality, we just need to move our bodies, and stop feeding other people

I love my BOSU! I love Mindy's gem (Bosu Total Body Blast). The BOSU dvds aren't too bad either. Looks like they are still having DVD clearance prices on BOSU DVD bundles (Sport and Pro bundles). There are some nice Ballet Beautiful programs (streaming library) that use the BOSU. And youtube abounds in fun BOSU uses. I love some of the moves in this clip.

ETA: I would definitely buy it again and in fact I have 2 thanks to a lucky $5 thrift store find lol

Yes, I see..... now you're suggesting we need two! That clip was amazing.

I'm so bummed about that Mindy dvd. I used to have it. I know I did. I don't know if I traded it away or loaned it out, but I cannot find it now.
