Every Day in FEBRUARY - this year is a month old?! Already?! Whiplash!!!

DOG: She looks kind but right now she is deadly serious! That's the feeling I wanted.

Welcome to the Every Day Checkin!
We are a small group who aim to do some form of physical activity every day, whatever that means for YOU (but don't kid yourself about it either)

Get over the joy of 2020 being done, it's time to GET SERIOUS about THIS year. If we're going to do every day in the YEAR, we need a NO EXCUSES attitude!
That was my best impersonation of a drill seargent.

NEWCOMERS, RETURNERS, LURKERS,... might as well say:

EVERYONE
is WELCOME!

Daily posts - not mandatory, nor even "sternly preferred" - but we love it if you do.
Weekly posts, drive-by notes, daily essays all about you.... any of those are perfectly fine - no pressure, EXCEPT to diligently try to add serious movement to your day - every day.

Lexicon:
WERD = Well Earned Rest Day, but even rest days can include movement
TERD = Totally Expected Rest Day, though not especially well-earned, like a planned happy event
TURD = Totally Unexpected Rest Day, hopefully also a happy event
HERD = of TURDS - usually declared after the THIRD TURD in a row. Try to avoid these at all costs, as they can move in & get comfortable, getting OUT of your comfort zone is the way to make change happen

Thanks for starting us with your usual wonderful graphics, Helen! Also love the Tom Hanks gif!
Yesterday was just a dog walk in the snow, so I didn't bother posting it, but I'm counting it! That made every day in January for me!

I'll be back to post after I work out.

Don't want Lili posting alone ...

So here I am to do a quick check in.
We got a boatload of snow. Still waiting to hear if the office is going to open today. We have close to if not over 30 inches of snow. And it's still snowing. (but not super hard). I can barely see the road. Hmmmm. . .

anyway, what to do on a snowy day? Well, exercise of course!!! And get February off to a great start:

2/1/2021: Row 5 mins. warm up, 15 mins. creating habits row, 45 minutes interval climb row, 10 mins. core workout with Emma, 10 mins. Glute & Legs with Adrian, 20 minutes Glutes and Legs with Selena, 30 minutes Pyong Chang Ride** for a badge, Get Health U tv Cardio kickboxing

It was a great workout. I feel fine this a.m. About to go do something before I do an "unbury the car" workout and try and find it ... to maybe head to work?!?

** Lili - this workout is from 2018 and it's from the Olympic site. It was a very visually appealing ride (to me) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The music was excellent. (again - for me) and it had a definite "Spin class" feel . more so than most Peloton workouts. it's from 2/16/2018 - with Robin Arzon. I liked it and hope to get back to do it again.

February: I need to do 2 more bootcamps by Feb. 8th (better get busy on that). I have to do 3x a week row of 10 minutes each for a Hydrow badge. I have my strength challenge for Feb. Which I've decided to continue to do as I am seeing great leaps and bounds in my strength. (Mostly planks.) Feeling strong. And work on those badges I don't have yet.

I remember why I didn't re-subscribe to Get Health U Tv. I don't really click with Chris. She's a wonderful instructor. But for whatever reason? I don't click with her. Her kickboxing was ridiculously fast (I did it in half time) . But I did a workout from GHU tv. Now to do some more. I can't judge by just one. I need to keep sampling. The roku express made it so much easier.

Ok, that's it for now!
Waves to all!

You don't have to be fast, just keep moving forward.

I've seen the weather reports saying that the road clearing machines weren't able to keep up with the pace of the stuff hitting the ground. I'm sure you'll take proper care though - you're not stupid.

Sorry you didn't click with Chris. I've done kickboxing from someone recently with buddy Kathryn, and it was SO fast! KCM maybe? Yeah... I think it was... to the point that we ditched it and found something else to do.

Shovelling snow IS a workout - I recall a thread entitled "Shovel Max" from a few years ago. Was going to ask how the dogs liked it, but see that Tally isn't a fan. With our heat, we think that Alice would like it - she definitely prefers winter, no problem in the cold.

WAVES for Pam, HappyLadi, and VANNIE!! (love that you dropped by!)

~Neighbourhood & trail walk
~Day 1 of Adriene’s 30 Days of Yoga: Ease Into It

Feb 2:
~6 km forest hike
~Day 2 of Adriene’s 30 Days of Yoga: Stretch & Soothe - I expected this to be gentle but it was quite active & very nice. I haven’t done a lot of Adriene’s practices before & I quite like these.
