Gaiam has a hula hoop workout

I saw this at Barnes & Noble yesterday. http://www.gaiam.com/retail/product....95-9189%20MSTR

If I'm reading this correctly, the workouts are led by Betty Hoop? Hmm, sounds interesting...

Betty Hoop----LOL! I recall a few years back, there was some discussion here about hula hoop workouts, so I went and bought a couple of new hula hoops because I used to love doing that (I even won a hula hoop contest as an adult, LOL), but stopped using them. I never tried a hoop DVD, and actually think it would be slightly difficult inside a house, where I could accidentally hit and break something. I'm almost tempted to buy this one, though .

There's a preview, but I couldn't get it to come up. I wonder what's different about this hoop as opposed to the regular play hoops you can buy?

I have this one and Abbe's right about it being difficult to do in the house. Also, I thought the workout itself was boring. There's not much difference between this hoop and a regular hoop, except this one has a cloth covering.

My preview played, although it was in little spurts. It looked like fun. I think the stretches with the hoop would feel good. I think my girls would love it.

How much was it at Barnes and Noble? It's not online.

Sorry, I didn't see. I was just walking through and happened to see it.

ETA: I thought they showed it for $24.99 on the site (on sale).

Leela bought this a long time ago but I don't recall seeing her review it.

Was it the same one? I thought the one Leela bought was a little more...hardcore. Betty Hoop's workout doesn't sound much like a workout! Sounds like this one's more dance-oriented. Or play.

I'm mistaken. She bought it from Gaiam but it's a different workout length and price. Here's the thread:

Burn 100 calories every 10 minutes? Okaaay...

I find it very interesting that they have not one but at least TWO hula hoop workouts!
