Revamped version of The Biggest Loser

I don’t know if this has been posted already or not but I just saw this article which says revamped version of Biggest Loser is coming to USA Network in 2020.

https://www.usanetwork.com/the-biggest-loser/cast

It sounds like they may have changed some of the problems with the old show. Bob Harper is going to host and they have 2 new trainers. The female trainer once weighed 300 lbs. and dropped 160 lbs. in 2 years. Sounds like she might be good for this. We shall see.

Cheryl, thanks for posting. I had not heard about this. I gave up on the old show, but it would be interesting for them to have a trainer who has actually lost weight themselves.

I think we have USA network. I need to check. Our thing is that we don't spend extra for an HD box, and a lot of channels only have on demand for HD.

Interesting! I had not heard about this so thanks for posting. I do like Bob Harper (just did his Ultimate Cardio Body earlier this week - it was tough!), and I've never heard of the other trainers. I'm curious to see the revamped version and what has changed with the show.

Just to let anyone know who is interested, this starts tonight on USA Network. However, it’s on at the same time as This Is Us so I hope I can watch it tomorrow on the USA Network App.

I posted about this a few days ago (thread “Bob Harper”). I’m curious about what changes there might be to the show since Bob’s heart attack.

Okay, now This is US is showing as being on tonight! When I checked last week, they were showing two hours of Ellen's Game of Games or whatever it's called. I'm so glad it's on tonight.

I watched it and was not impressed. What is really revamped about it? Bob is hosting and there are two new trainers.

I felt it was a waste of time to watch it. Unless I blinked and missed it, they did not have one single example on screen about healthy eating/meal planning/cooking, etc.

The whole thing was focused on yet again workouts that look like they are torturing everyone, and a challenge and the weigh in.

Again, they have trainers who pretend that they are also licensed therapists. Would the trainer (blanking on her name) telling the poor woman that the death of her father was not her fault really suddenly make her see that?

I was hoping since Bob had had a heart attack they might focus on more holistic forms of exercise like yoga or (dare to dream!) dance or activities that are actually fun that could be considered exercise. Nope, more slogging on treadmills, using ropes, using weights that were obviously too heavy with lousy form, etc.

How is this show supposed to motivate anyone? They did not focus on nutrition at all. Showing people puking from exercise that they all seemed to hate is not going to get anyone to start exercising.

They hardly ever seem to correct anyone's form on weight lifting or using med balls. I keep waiting for someone to hurt themselves.

Also, why do you have to push yourself so hard that you make yourself sick? Great message

I am done with this show.

Wow, Sherry. How disappointing! I, too, thought that there would be big changes in the show after Bob’s heart attack. Extreme workouts that literally make you sick? How does lead to a sustainable healthy lifestyle? They should be ashamed.

Someone did hurt themselves. Saw on a YouTube wrap up video that someone jumped into a mud pit during a Spartan type course and hurt, possibly broke, their ankle. That would make me really want to workout, not.
