I love this workout, too. My barbell has 20lbs for the tricep work, and 30lbs for the chest/back work. Then I use weenie 5lbers for the shoulder work and it still kills me.
LOL @ using weenie 5lbers.........I'm using 2's and praying for mercy at the end of this, Lexy!!!!

I'll catch you though.........using this workout will definitely make my arms and shoulders stronger!!!

Steph, You WILL get stronger. I started with 5s and was immediately humbled down to 3s. I stayed there for a while and then moved up to 5s....where I'm screaming again.

Do you think you could still get good results if you used this as a split rotation and did 2x upper and 2x lower? Or do you think it's just best to do the entire w/o 3x per week?

I liked this one, too.

Gardengirl, I like splitting my workouts also. I don't see why you would *have* to do it all at once, but then I'm no expert on lifting weights. (I do remember reading about a study that concluding that there's not much difference in the benefits of 2x vs. 3x a week, but I'm sure another study will come out soon and say, no, there's a huge difference.) I say do what works best for your schedule.

Thanks Kath! I got this workout for Christmas and I really like it. But I like to do some kind of cardio every day and since this is long, I thought splitting it up would probably make it easier for me to stick to a regular weight rotation. I will give it a try!

Gardengirl, I just remembered reading threads here about the benefits of splits. You might try to do a search for that. I find I can go a little heavier when I split the workout up into parts. And I do like adding some cardio after my weights session, too.

I use those weenie weights, too, for this workout.
Funny (if you can laugh through the tears) how challenging it can be!

Kathryn, I think part of the reason we need to go so light is it's the last exercise (before abs) and ones arms/shoulders are already worked to death.

The FIRST time I did this workout, I picked up 8s. That lasted for about five reps.

All this talk about this workout made me want to do it again. So I did but I skipped the shoulder work since I did so much of that doing SIM last night. I still love this workout though. The time flies.
