I don't have any complaints about music or background because I was always in too much pain from them. :P I liked the immediacy of the results and the pace of her workouts, but I'm trading them all off after getting my 3rd Ripped! induced migraine.

Do you get migraines in general from resistance work, or is it just Ripped for some reason?

I think she started reading VF and decided to change things. I love the original music, too.

When you have as many fitness videos as I do, you hate to hear the same old music all the time. I prefer DVDs with a "Music Off" option.

I wish I knew the answer to that. I viewed the clip of Ripped and Chiseled from home this morning, and I'm going to pass. Too much of the same old ... same old. Same set, same music, same type of moves as in S&L.

I guess I'm the only one who was glad of the music change after the first one...that techno stuff gives me a headache!

I thought Ripped's music was totally forgettable. But I think that about nearly all DVDs.

I don't remember hearing about her her reading VF AFAIK she's said that she doesn't read any forums other than her own. But I know when she first came out, many of us had emailed her and some were giving suggestions for things we would like to see in future workouts. Some where along the line, Lexy was given the task of helping her choose the music for the new workouts, so that's why the music changed. Lexy had to choose from a specific set of music which is why some of it maybe in other workouts too.

Yep, she's coming out with 4 new dvds. They will be progressive in intensity. The first will come out in March and then, from what she told me, every few months after that until we get the 4.

And now I can say that my involvement was selecting the music for the dvds. IS THAT COOL OR WHAT!?!?!?! Most of what I selected, she used, or said she's using. I felt like a record producer, picking out various music to go with "body parts."

I couldn't pick anything I wanted. The selection was limited to a certain music vendor. It's awesome. Little bit of this, little bit of that, definitely a mix of "up" music. Jari thought I was taking a few chances (so what else is new?) but her "people" love it.

Let's hope you guys do too.

Yep. You got it right, Gymmie. I should add that I was given the task of picking from ONE particular FILE from that vendor. Not a lot of choices and I told her which ones were already used (by Cathe, etc.).

In summary, it's not my fault. And I don't think it's THAT bad. I'm another person who didn't like the original techno music but it was Jari who picked the file, not me. And I'd tell the same story even if people LIKED the music.

Well, Lexy, I liked your choices! And Jari must like them too--she says "I love this song!" several times in R&C.

I'm excited about this. I loved the original Ripped. As far as music goes. I ignore most of the music in workouts. It's all just about the same to me. Why do they always use whistles? Give me some rock and roll! I tune it all out and try to concentrate on the exercise. I like that Jari uses older people like me in her workouts.
