I really liked the Crater Lake video. I also did an ankle weight workout that was filmed outside which gave a nice burn without high reps.

I have been doing HDM workouts for the past few months and the higher production values on PBL are a nice upgrade.

Wow, timely thread. I was having some lower back pain lately. I am not sure what I did to hurt it, but Classical Stretch wasn't helping me as it had in the past. I decided to revisit some old Pilates DVD's, (Classical Pilates and 10 minute Solution) and I feel great! I think I am going to have to add some pilates in my workouts. With our internet in PA, streaming is not the best, so any info on new Pilates DVD's are welcome. My stuff is ancient, but it works!

I am not up on Pilates DVDs but maybe Aunt Famous can chime in! Or YogaPam. It depends on your level, too.

For DVDs, I like Element's Targeted Toning for Beginners - 3 20 to 25 minute workouts, lovely scenery.

This thread has inspired me to do Pilates on my off days when I usually just walk, no weights. I haven't used these in years:

Hit the Spot Pilates - Denise Austin
10 Minute Solution Pilates
10 Minute Solution Rapid Results Pilates
Stott Pilates Core Challenge
Total Core Pilates with Jules Benson

I'm chiming in! I like DVDs with short segments, I can add on one or more to my other workouts.

Some of favorites, most have short segments:

Winsor Pilates: Pilates for the Fit & Famous, Buns & Thighs (the one that uses band)
Kathy Smith: Peel off the Pounds Pilates, Lower Body Pilates
Suzanne Bowen: 10 Minute Solution Pilates Perfect Body
Caroline Sandry 30 Days to Flat Abs
Tracey Mallett: Pilates Super Sculpt
Element Pilates Mini Ball

Ellen Barrett's Fusion Floor - all on the mat, about 45 min
Trudie Styler's Core Strength Pilates - lovely & flowing, longer at about 50 min

Hope that helps!

Here are my favorite Pilates DVDs.

-Winsor Pilates Sculpting Ball (uses the mini ball), which has two workouts: a 20 minute,
and a 45 minute.
-10 Minute Solution Pilates (the original with Lara Hudson, and Quick Sculpt with Andrea Rogers--this one utilizes the mini ball, but Andrea has a tendency to talk fast)
-The Method Precision Toning (oldie but goodie), along with its companion Precision Sculpting (which has the standing arm series and some ballet inspired legwork)
-Element Pilates Weight Loss for Beginners (Brooke Siler--this one is great for learning proper form)
-MTV Pilates (Kristin McGee, the one in the purple cover)

Although most of my favorites are longer workouts (over 30 minutes), I personally prefer short add-ons (30 minutes or less) (like Yogapam said above). This way I can combine them with a short cardio workout.

I have the 10 minute solutions and the Rapid Results 10 minute solutions. I also have Classical Pilates mat and with the ring. I purchased from VF Roost "Do more Pilates Standing and Do More Pilates Mat," but had them shipped to PA, and I am in NJ for the Holidays, so they will be waiting for me when I get home.

I almost forgot, the Windsor Pilates, But and Thigh! Definitely a tough side series workout!

I dug out my old books, the Alycea Ungaro one and Brooke Siler's for some form pointers. I forgot how hard some of the movements are, especially Teaser!!!

I did a lot of Pilates years ago, it is fun to get back into it. Seems like something new.

I would love to take lessons on a Reformer, but I spend most of my time in Pennsylvania, and there are no studios nearby. I may try to take one in NJ one of these days.
