Jessica's Ultimate Workouts for Weight Loss 4-DVD Collection

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share a recent purchase of mine and RAVE about it!

It is Jessica Smith's The Ultimate Workouts for Weight Loss 4-DVD Collection. Now these are not new workouts but they come bundled in a 4-pack and include:

10 Pounds Down Cardio Abs
Total Body Balance
Barre Fitness
Walking for Weight Loss, Wellness, and Energy

I got the set at Marys for about $43 after using the 10off coupon, plus free shipping.

Here is why I love this:
  • Jessica is so encouraging and kind and really tells you to listen to your body.
  • She does all the workouts along with you.
  • She wears workout clothes like me (I know this sounds silly but sometimes when I see instructors in super-fancy workout clothes it makes me feel guilty about my basic black capris & tank top).
  • It has a great mix of styles - walking, strength training, barre, Pilates/yoga, kickboxing, fusion.
  • There are a ton of workouts on here - 12, plus a 4-min tabata.
  • None of the workouts are over 30 min, except the 2 walking ones which are 40 if you include the warm up and cool down. The core of the walking ones is still only 30.
  • This is a great place to start if you are trying to get back into fitness like me and maybe you don't want to end up a sweaty mess after your workout, but you don't want just a yoga DVD. I find Total Body Balance to be especially good for that.
I think most of these DVDs go for $12-$16 on their own. She also has a 2-week rotation posted on her website that uses these, if you are interested.

I used to work out with The FIRM and also Cathe, but I have been wanting to get back to working out and looking for shorter workouts that were not HIIT but weren't only yoga either. These have totally hit the spot. I would say they are a great choice for working up to higher fitness levels or if you just want to have some options for low-impact, low-intensity. You could also string some of the cardio w/o's together to get some LISS (low intensity steady state) cardio sessions that are 30-60-80 min if you wanted a longer session.
