Thumbs up February 2020 ~ Walk On & On ~ New Check-In Buddies Are Always Welcome!

What started as a Leslie walk challenge has morphed into a wide variety of workouts and lots of support and encouragement! Join us, if you're looking for a friendly check-in, that's not limited to one type of exercise!

I started my most recent weight loss journey January 2008.
I lost 1/2 of my starting body weight and entered into maintenance May 2011.

Good Morning, Everyone! Happy Weekend!

I was able to get some rest last night and slept in a bit this morning.

Last night: Basic stretches
This morning: Oxycise

Diana, thanks for starting our month!

I think I'm through the worst of this. Went back to an old favorite OC remedy, Alka-Seltzer Plus, and got a really good night's sleep. I finished the cough-suppressing Rx, but wasn't impressed with it.

Did no exercise yesterday. If I do anything today, it'll be be some really gentle stretches.

Checking in with a new workout from Bodyfit by Amy: 30 Minute Full Body Dumbbell HIIT Workout for Strength and Cardio. I was a little worried about the "HIIT" label, but this workout was no dread. The cardio was the kind I like - skaters, Heismans (where you take really quick steps from side to side) and one where you put your weights at the ends of your mat and shuffle from side to side and touch down to the weight. That was fun, actually. There wasn't a lot of cardio. It was a focused strength upper or lower, then the opposite, then the cardio, then compounding the strength moves. All for 30-40 seconds each. Anyway, recommending it.

Cynthia, glad you're feeling better! I wasn't too impressed with that cough med either. No cough meds seem very effective for me. I basically have to knock myself out and that helps for a few hours.

DIana, I hope your DH is feeling better! And I'm glad you were able to get some sleep.

We are driving out to that church tomorrow for the service. Hoping things go well!

I got a formal workout in today.

Check-In: 15 minutes bike/25 minutes treadmill at gym

barre 3 60 minutes.

Well after a month of no WW tracking, not so much exercise and working 13 hour days much of the time, the end is in sight. About a week more of tough days finishing up a major project at work, but then things should settle down, so I am trying to get back on track. The barre3 drama seems to have settled down. At least the February workouts looked like the normal ones-- the one I did today was quite good, and the few new ones I did in January were somewhat ok. So I am hoping to start my New Year's resolutions one month late!

Cynthia, sorry to hear you are sick and hope you are recovered soon.

Cheryl, I glanced at the Jan. thread a bit, but am not fully up on things. I was thinking that your DH may be up for a job try out today, and if so, sending all good thoughts your way!!

Diana, hope your DH is doing well. Mine is still getting over the flu from early Jan. Apparently you can have symptoms up to a month after getting over it and he is still coughing from it. I told him this is why he should have gotten the shot (he hates shots) and finally he has agreed.

Hi Everyone!

Lynn It's good to see you. My DH got the flu shot and has been sick since. The last 4 or 5 years the Dr's has been convincing him to get the flu shot and he has gotten pretty sick for months after. He has rarely gotten sick in the past. I am wondering if the shot weakens his immune system and makes him more prone to sickness. I don't know. I hope your DH feels better soon. My DH had waves of weakness and nausea today.
