Roku

Here is a list from ROKU of their fitness channels:
https://blog.roku.com/how-to-work-ou...organic_social

There are many more fitness streaming sites with their own apps like Bodygroove, NiaTV, BollyX, etc.

I use the Web Video Caster app to cast almost any workout video from its browser.
Also I cast video files on the phone's sd card with the ROKU app.

Of course, there are also infinite workouts on youtube.

Thanks! I just got a new Streaming Stick+ for the living room tv when Amazon had a great sale on them recently. Roku had discontinued support and updates for my old LT so it is a good time to clean up my channels.

If you open Roku Channel, scroll down to Home Together and open the Tons Of Free Offers icon, there are a bunch of subscription channels offering a 30-day free trial. You have to put in a credit card number and remember to cancel before the 30 days are up to avoid being charged, but essentially you're getting these channels for free for 30 days from whenever you start.

They include Fitfusion, Grokker, Gaiam, Epix, Showtime, AcornTV, History Vault and more.

Roku Channel has a lot of programs for free as well. They have the old NBC Real People show which I used to love as a teen. Plus Gordon Ramsey shows uncensored! Plenty of raw language, but none of the constant bleep-bleeping

Probably a stupid question, but how does the streaming stick work? I've been thinking of getting one for our upstairs TV (we have a Roku TV downstairs). Is it easy to set up? Thanks.

The Amazon firestick is really easy to set up. I am a tech idiot and I was able to do it.

Not stupid at all! You plug the stick into an HDMI port on the tv and then power it either by plugging a short cord into an adjacent USB port or with a longer cord into a wall socket (it comes with both). I did have to move it from the HDMI at the back to the one on the side where my cable was originally plugged in to get the remote to work better.

Setup is really easy, especially if you already have a Roku account. It will reload your channels. It's also nice to have a tv power button and volume controls on the Roku remote now.

Hope that helps!

ROKU and Amazon have different streaming sticks so if you want to use your ROKU account,
I believe you would want the ROKU streaming stick, not the Amazon Fire stick.

You can research their differences online and see which you would prefer.
Supposedly, the Amazon stick is better if you have PRIME.
Otherwise, the ROKU stick may be a better choice with a less cluttered home page.

I have a Roku streaming stick, Roku Ultra and a Fire stick with Recast. All of them were very easy to set up, with step by step instructions on the screen.

***old thread alert***

The first message has a link to a list of fitness channels on the Roku. This is for anyone investigating streaming options (for the holiday exchange or otherwise).
