OFF TOPIC: pet food recall not on the list

thought some would be interested.
go to www.petsitusa.com/blog
go down the list & find your pet food company.
Joye was right about waggintails.com info!
Wellness, Evolve & Eagle do have menu foods make some of their products.

So here's a question -- I have some packages of whiskas wet food that I feed to my cats. They're not on the recall list, and whiskas website says that they've been cleared by the FDA (don't know if I have much faith in that meaning anything). However, the food does have wheat gluten. Should I feed it to my cats, or should I just hold onto it on the chance that they'll later find this wheat gluten is linked to the bad stuff? I'm going back and forth on what to do here. I didn't feed it to my cats last night, which resulted in lots of whining.

mbt, I'm in the same boat with some dog food (that my dogs REALLY like). It has wheat gluten and is made by Purina (think Alpo recall). I'm not going to chance it. The list keeps changing and I've lost confidence that we're getting all the facts since Menu Foods and the FDA won't disclose the name of the distributor. Plus it's hard for me to believe Purina got wheat gluten for just their Alpo and no other product. Sure seems to me that the need to just come out and be honest rather than let people wonder and become paranoid. I'd much rather deal with the truth!

I have some cans of Fancy Feast I just put away. They are NOT on the list but they are made by Purina and they contain wheat gluten. It makes me nervous.

I had on hand a bunch of pouches of Wiskas wet food that I give my cats as treats once in a while. I threw out the whole lot. It's not worth the risk. My older cat already has kidney trouble. I don't need to add to it.

I was nervous when I saw that Hill's Science Diet pulled one of their dry foods. My cats live off of Science Diet, but luckily not the one that was listed.

This is really freaking me out. Both of my dogs starting throwing up yesterday - they eat the dry version of Meijer Main Choice, which is not on the recall list. The wet version is.

They have vet appts today - I'm hoping it's just the doggy flu or something.

Suzette, I hope your dogs are okay. Please post to the list how they're doing and what the vet said. Fingers crossed for your babies!
